IT'S GREAT TO BE A TENNESSEE VOLUNTEER!!!

Me, too. It’s my favorite and I love to tell the story every time I wear it.

Say what you will but our defense play is just as important as who our qb is if not more.

Great callout. So true AND bizarre. In four of Heupel and Banks five years, defense has been bottom 100. And one year, They looked like superstars. Can you imagine how much fun Tennessee football will be if they can get both sides working at the same time? It’ll be like the 2019 Joe Burrow led...

Hendon Hooker interview with Ron Slay

YES on the uni's. I'm indifferent on uniforms. If it makes a player happy or it makes a fan happy, then fantastic. I like tradition and I like it when things are spiced up a bit. Orange helmets were something I thought could be cool. These...were not. They looked like Clemson out on the field...

Hendon Hooker interview with Ron Slay

I couldn’t say if Banks was the problem but I drove my son five hours that weekend to see the high flying Tennessee offense with Hyatt and Hooker and others. During the warm ups I remember looking at my son and commenting, “something’s off, they don’t act like they want to be here.” The...

We signed TWO - 2026 Recruiting Classes

And don't forget, Tennessee would still be recovering from the dumpster fire of Dooley->Jones->Pruitt. NIL allowed the Volunteers to go from 3-7 (2020) to 11-2 (2022) in two short years. Think of these close by four-year timeframes: 2017 - 2020 -> 20-27 (43% win rate) 2022 - 2025 -> 38-14 (73%...

    Mike Keith Interviews Jim Knowles

But you’re not wrong. With the offenses Heupel fields each year, even a top 30 defense will have TN playing for all the marbles.

Teams not allowing Portal players to return?

Agree. And I wonder how many money-grabbers are influencing these young men? Agents/family members (I'm staring at you, Mr. Iameleava) directing these young men on $$ alone. It will work itself out, but it feels like watching a car accident in slow motion.

    after flurry of commitments

“Upgrade at kicker” That should be worth two, if not three wins. So…11-2?

    Dysfunctional Program....

Agree. Texas A&M already sussed this out in Jimbo Fisher's last year. I can't believe some schools (I'm looking at you, Kiffen) are still blindly throwing money. Heupel is going a fine job. Needs to improve in areas (defense, strength and conditioning) but he knows that. He reads this message...

What are your most annoying Ref calls i.e. "unwritten rules" during a game?

Yeah, this one gets me. You know it happens every play but always seem to come at conspiracy convenient times.

    We got our kicker

True. The first was boinked off the upright during the Clemson game. Shanked to the left: The second was blocked during the bowl game: Cooper only missed one under 50 yards and hit 84%. He has good numbers for a freshman kicker. This is a solid upgrade.

    Coaching or talent or both?

NIL. There is no more “building rosters”

Unranked at the End of the Season

I thought the days of ending the season not in the top 15 were over. Not even gonna make the top 25. Some changes on defense cannot come fast enough.
