The frustrating thing about Colson (and Ritzie) is that he plays a need position. If he was a skill player, he’d not be as big of a loss.
Early returns on recruiting last year were also frustrating, but this year just feels like we can’t get any traction with blue chips. The COVID visit...
We may not sign one top ten player in our own state. Let that sink in, folks.
Colson is a big loss at a need position. This should have been a slam dunk.
Even with the COVID restrictions, we should be doing better than this. Taking marginal WRs with 4.9 40s isn’t going to placate the masses.
Difference is that NC want to play for in the instate school; TN kids haven’t in a long time.
That’s the line the media has been pumping. At best, UNC is mid-tier in a bad conference. Lazy argument.
The quarantine is a major reason UNC is cleaning up in-state, and UT is suffering. If a lot of these kids could travel, I’m wondering if they still commit to UNC.
May not get any for quite awhile if recruiting continues to be shut down—that’s what’s hurting us right now. I’m concerned that the longer this quarantine goes on the worse this class is going to be.
As another poster pointed out, UNC is making hay instate because kids can’t travel. Ole...
He would be a critical miss by this staff at a need position. No two ways about it.
Hopefully we can find a similar talent out-of-state, but losing this one hurts.
Well said. JG deserves credit for helping this team turn around last season. He's also been a good kid and teammate.
But as the OP pointed out, there have been too many times JG's performance has hurt this team's chance of winning. We can do better at QB.
Nice post--sums up my thoughts on early recruiting too.
The fate of this class hinges on whether we win 8-9 games this year. That said, we absolutely cannot have a repeat of the first two games last year. Even though we rebounded in a big way, the narrative of losing two games we should have...
