I mean neither is super highly rated, similar rankings to what Evans & Brown were last year, and again they’re playing big roles for us this year, you never know what will happen next year. If you get into the off season and some frontcourt players try and get a huge bump in money and you don’t...
You’re never gonna play 15 guys, and portal pieces are even more expensive, you gotta fill out a roster somehow. I don’t think a guy like Peck is costing a bunch, and I think we’re likely getting a nice discount if we take Washington
Agree on this, I think they need a guy who’s a more modern 4…Phillips, Estrella and Brown are all 5s ideally, need someone that gives you that versatility.
I don’t think loading up on portal additions is really the way either…Evans, Brown and even Henderson have played quite a role this year as freshman, it’s also cheaper to retain the talent you want rather than trying to go big in the portal. IMO 2-3 additions from the portal each year is a good...
I mean they did go and get Ament who’s kind of a bucket as a freshman….but I get what you’re saying.
I guess I just don’t see/understand why it matters? They took Troy Henderson who shot nearly 50% from 3 in AAU and HS last year…I just think your hit rate on guys is probably going to be higher...
Knecht, Lanier & Gillespie weren’t guys that were gonna come in here and be big scorers in year 1 or 2, why reach on guys you have no clue about what they’ll be when you can sit back and pluck proven scorers from the portal?
Green & Clark have been filling it up at the HS level this season, no clue how that ultimately translates but they aren’t coming in with Boswell type HS numbers. Clark definitely seems to be a score first PG from what I’ve seen this year and while Green previously was thought of as an advanced...
VQ said Tennessee pushing for Washington Jr. and that they view him as a true forward, where as they view Scott as more of a wing, thought that was an interesting note.
