I'm just happy that the NCAA has allowed D1 teams to play other D1 teams in the fall instead of just juco or mid-major teams. Step in the right direction, IMO.

He will be able to help himself at pre-draft workouts. He has all of the physical measurables. I'm betting that a team will take a shot at him early in the draft if he indicates that he is signable.

Todd played both football and baseball for 3 years at UT. He missed much of his junior year in football due to a knee injury, but he never went "baseball only" at UT. And the NCAA mandates that if a dual sports scholarship athlete plays football, then the scholarship has to count against...

Drake Owenby's first start for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers today, after 3 short appearances for the Arizona Brewers Rookie League team today was successful vs. Burlington (Iowa). 2 1/3IP, 2H, 1ER, 0BB, 3K. Good to see Drake back on the hill after rehabbing the injury.

Drake Owenby finally out of his stint in extended spring training rehab in Arizona. Told me this morning that he is headed to the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for 2-3 starts, and then on to the Carolina Mudcats after that.

ETSU is not an easy place to win consistently. They don't get anywhere near the full 11.7 schollies to give. The number I have heard over the years has been in the 5-6 range. Skole has done a good job of getting solid Knoxville area prospects. Be interesting to see if that continues...

That's been out there for about 10 days, now. He resigned at ETSU last week. Formal introduction at The Citadel is supposed to be tomorrow, or at least that was the plan late last week. No surprise, really. Skole played both baseball and football at The Citadel and is in The Citadel...

Interesting. All I can find on him is that he's been a head coach. Don't see anything about his being a pitching coach.
