Personally I didn't think Danny would make this hire. But I'm glad he did this is 1000% the right move. This is an Omaha caliber roster, let's make it happen!

If Schnall is even a serious candidate that should be all the more reason to hire Elander. Long time assistant helped build the program and did tremendous in his 1 year at the helm. But literally dude has been a coach for 1 year. Great year but far from proven commodity.

I don't get the Kevin Schnall love. He's been a head coach exactly one season, albeit a darn good one. I know he had a big part in building up to last year as the main assistant under Gary Gilmore, but to me he's Coastals version of Elander.

Agree. Earley wasn't even the best assistant coach on Schloss' staff at A&M. The pitching coach was much more highly thought of than Earley. Really not comparable situations in my opinion. Our in-house guy has been linked to SEC jobs the last 2 cycles.

Has anyone else noticed weird tendencies with our defensive positioning? Last night it seemed our SS and 2b playing almost straight up the middle even with runners on base. Seemed to have huge gaps between 1st and 2nd especially with a lefty at the plate and Burke holding the runner. Also...
