Did you watch the postgame press conference? The more I watch & listen to Gasso the more I become a fan of hers. She's one outstanding coach/person. Humility, intelligence, determination, and great sense of humor all exhibited in that presser. Her players sound just like her too. Paige Parker...
Thanks for the info and clarification DP. I don't usually follow soccer that closely so. This from a former HS varsity soccer player (a starting forward/striker). :)
At the end of the day I'm happy for Patty Gasso and OU softball. Very classy coach and program. Usually, Gasso has nothing but good things to say when it comes to Tennessee, and she and the Weeklys have an enormous genuine mutual respect for each other. I really like her.
Well, I had decided...
I had to check this. It appears that Hannah Wilkinson got hurt in the preseason and missed the entire season last year. Hence, she was rightfully given the redshirt. Vastly different from Gabriel situation I think.
I'm not surprised. Even an amateur onlooker like myself has some issues with the way the Weeklys use their pitchers, you know. Hopefully, the Weeklys have learned some valuable lessons going forward, and will be better prepared when the BIG Stage/moment arrives and stares them in the face.
I had to think about that for a second. Who else can we include in the top 10 conversation? Patty Gasso for sure. Carol Hutchins for sure. Mike White & Kelly Inouye-Perez perhaps from the Pac 12, but White and especially I-P seem a notch below the top 5 from the SEC. Is Mike Candrea still one of...
I just counted WCWS, super regional and regional separately. :) Not just for the Weeklys but for all the coaches mentioned in my original post.
You can make a case for the Weeklys but, they lost some credibility points in my eyes by not winning a NC with Abbot. had they won a natty with...
I agree with everything you said. Patty Gasso earning 300K makes a perfect sense to me just like Ralph and Karen Weekly each making about 160K a year.
Well, this is my list of 10 best coaches in the SEC (I reserve the right to change my mind in the year 2020 or 2025 just to mind you.:)...
Why is it so hard for me to imagine that the Weeklys-led team(s) could have come back from 7 runs down and win a game in the Championship Series like this Myers-led Auburn team just did tonight? Somebody please blast me and say I'm stupid or something.
I don't care either way who wins a natty but I don't think Auburn winning a national championship will hurt our own recruiting. Tennessee softball is already a well-established, much-respected national program/brand. All the travel ball coaches, recruits, and parents know that Tennessee is one...
I didn't watch the whole game, and only caught the 8th inning (plus some highlights), but what a game!! That catch by Howard, if Auburn comes back and wins tomorrow, will go down as the biggest single play in the history of Auburn softball. What a catch!!
Paige Parker is tired. She's already...
Clint Myers is just unbelievable. In his 8 seasons at AZ St, he won 2 NCs, reached 7 WCWS and 1 super regional. Now at Auburn, in just his third season, his Tigers are playing for a National Championship. 2 SECT championships, 2 WCWS so far. His players just sound so confident (bordering on...
According to Karen Weekly, UT is still waiting to hear from the NCAA. In a radio interview she gave last week, Karen Weekly said that maybe no news is good news but then again, it's the NCAA so they are ready to move on in either case. If not given a medical red shirt, then Gabriel will start a...
I think Gabby Sprang plays with the Georgia Impact. Ashely Morgan ('17), another UT verbal commit is playing with Gabby on the same travel ball team.
Obviously, Sprang is not the only Minnesotan recruit who has decided to play travel ball in warmer climate for apparent reasons. Justus...
