Utah State opens as early Vegas favorite @Tennessee

Does this chart take into account your crappy competition?

Not at all. I said as much.

Sagarin had UT 2013 SOS at #7 and USU 2013 SOS at #74.

BTW, Sagarin had Vandy at #50 SOS and USA at #115.

You rolled both of them last year without breaking a sweat, right?

What is all of this last year talk? Last time I checked, we play THIS year. Both of our teams are different this year...no?

LOL you must be spending alot of time on the Colorado pot ranch to come up with these gems pard.

I would not expect the SOS to move much this year. Would you? I also expect the teams to perform about the same.

I'm a bit curious why so many Vol fans here think you will be much much better.

The guys that get paid to write and guess about such things are not really sold on UT making a sudden jump.

If I am wrong here show me an example of a credible sportswriter saying the Vols are going to be much better. Fifth in the SECe is about as high as I have seen anyone that knows anything place them.

I'm not a UT supporter, so I'm sure I've missed many articles. If it is out there, please share.

I'm a bit curious why so many Vol fans here think you will be much much.

You act like they have to be much better to beat USU.

Second year in the system, continuity of the staff, healthy QB's, healthy Maggit, 14 EE's, Von Pearson showing out early on, improving speed everywhere, AJ Johnson returning, capable TE's coming in, etc.

They'll be better. I don't see why that's hard to understand. Before you start making assumptions, "better" is 6-6 and a bowl win.

We're picked 32 preseason. With as many question marks as we have and the last few seasons, I'd say some of the "experts" are buying in.

Look cheif when your team beats somebody other than New Mexico St and UNLV give us a holler. If you really are a true fan of the Utes then go back beyond the last two years and look and your record. You play in a weak conference, if Kentucky was in that conference they would be undefeted every year. You keep talking about or record for the past three years, yeah it sucked but look beyond that we will get better you will go back to 2-10. See ya

UT hasn't won a bowl game in six years, and we've had four 5-7 seasons, not to mention several winning streaks against weaker SEC opponents ended.

Fact of the matter is we suck and USU has done fairly good recently for a team that has normally been terrible.

Your right what was I thinking trying to be a Vol fan. Why dont we all just pull for the Utes. Or why don't you move to Utah get ten wifes and pull on your ute.

Yeah. We might do worse than 5-7. But not by much.

The SEC portion of the schedule is a doozey! The OOC? Not so much...

Austin Peay/Western Necktuky/South Alabama/Georgia State/Akron/Troy/Buffalo/MUTS are not exactly an all-star line-up.

Fact is, adding USU to that lineup won't drive our OOC "difficulty" rating up one bit.

That's why we play the Oregon's and the Oklahoma's.

And, of course, an SEC schedule.

Kinda funny, really...to you, the UT game is a big deal. To us, you're just another opening win against an overrated "buy a vowel conference" mid-pack team with a Napolean complex.

You should be nicer to UT fans; they're the ones who bought tickets so the UTAD could write your AD a nice check for that trip east to get thumped.

Go Vols.

Hey Chatta, everybody on here knows this. We know we've been at the lowest point in program history since the 1920's thanks to any awful AD and 2 historically bad HC hires. Nobody on here is predicting more than 5-7 wins that I've seen.

The point is, we don't need some pos prick from an historically irrelevant and awful program talking shiite about a proud program like ours. With each post the guy shows himself to be more of a d!ck..... let's not help him out, eh?

Meh. It's not really a big deal, other than the fact that it is a game on our schedule, so I'd like to see us win.

I don't really care if UT is Tennessee or Toledo. I just want us to go out and win the game.

We'll definitely see how much "thumping" really happens.

The last 3 seasons, UT is getting thumped more than they are doing the thumping.

This is not smack talk. This is a fact supported by the number of 21 pts. or greater losses/wins.

You and your past seasons. If we're going to talk pasts, lets go all the way back. If not, we can talk about the future...Which involves UT thumping USU...Either way, you don't have a very strong argument.
