IMO, Hart showed he somewhat cared by not giving in last season. If Hart believed in Martin, why not offer the extension last season, especially with the talent we had coming back? Like a lot of us fans, I think Hart is in a "show me what you can do" kind of mode. Hamilton likely would have extended him last season.
First off, you don't fire a guy or talk contract 2 years into a 5 year unless he had the most talented roster in the league/nation and did nothing with it. That was HARDLY the case. You get into a habit like that as an AD and the only candidates you'll have are asst's coming out of DivII .
Secondly, Martin took the hand he was dealt and matched the previous years total record and beat the SEC record and he didn't have Tobias Harris or Scotty Hopson to work with. He improved a little on that his second year. He has a chance to improve on year 2 this year.
LOL! Sorry folks!! There's no basis to fire him. And if Hart told him he has to make the NCAAT this year and then fires him after he does....there wont be a coach in the country that will trust a damn thing Hart say's.
