This is stating the obvious, but there will have to be an opening for any of it to matter. I'm not convinced there will be an opening if Martin gets this team into the dance.

There is a current coach so there is no official discussion Hart is having. He's planning ahead and gathering info and listening. He's smart and isn't going to say much back.

Exactly and I think Cheek took control of it or won out because hires were made of coaches that would not buck him. Easier to deal with yes men and women. Than to work around coaches that had direct lines to the donors and built the donation relationships from day one.

If they wanted money they got it, I don't think Cheek liked this and felt than the donation going through their office could be distributed in any direction he so deemed.

It quickly broke the budget.

Again, I think Hart is getting Cheek out of his business.

As far as the coaching change, we at least 6-7 weeks away from any discussion of a Change. Any announcements like Friday about Pearl not being considered are opinion or speculation.

For the AD to address anything regarding Pearl at this time is stupid. Or did I miss something?

Read Sparty's posts. To think Hart hasn't had discussions with people behind the scenes is naive.

Evidence is pretty clear that at that School the second somebody doesnt go someones way they "Blow it up" to the local media. maybe hes talking but to no one we know. lol

Anything regarding Hart at this point IMO is purely speculation but possible. It is only known by a few and any leaks would be crucified.


If a huge donor called and it was a topic of discussion brought up by the donor, Hart would not blow him or her off.

Do I think he is soliciting opinions at this point? No. He knows who will support the change at this moment before he makes the call when he does.

Again, if he has to call a donor and discuss it at this point then he will look indecisive and weak. If we were to lose the next three games really helps in the conversation. If we make the tourney and have a run then he needs to be be able to justify the change and the reason for it with facts. After all, it's money, it's a business, and it pays for all athletics and facilities.

Right now he can't do either.

I am sure big Donors have called, Hart is smart enough to address it without putting himself in a corner.

There are no sources.

I hate that people don't realize after several years of coaching searches that there is only speculation by media and fans based on an individual's interpretation of a conversation with someone they think is in the know.

Didn't A person in the know leak the Nike deal and shortly after that leak he terminated his employment because he given the opportunity to resign or be fired.

Martin makes the tournament and wins one game, then he is safe for another year. But , he will struggle next year allowing Hart and Admin to replace him. Pearl's show cause ends in August allowing him to be hired without involvement by NCAA. Talks will begin and deal will be in place to replace Martin when Tennessee goes below .500 in win / loss. Everything fits in place. JMO on the TN conspiracy.

*PS (dang thought I clicked edit..my bad)And if the local media had any conformation or believed or had a real source they trusted , heck theyd be throwing the biggest "Look at me! Look at me!" articles flying thru knoxville faster than the interstate drug shipments! ALL have given themselves and "Out" read their words. lol

I still wouldn't be in favor of the move, but that scenario makes a helluva lot more sense than the theory about firing a guy after a 20 win season and replacing him with a guy that can't resume full duties until basically two months before the next season starts.

VQ has been spot on in the coaching search stuff, and they've clearly got better connections than anyone else in the media. How do you think they got pictures of the grey uniforms before anyone else had them? Why do you think they have commitment stories wrote before guys publicly announce?

Deny it if you want, but Hart has spoken to people, and those people have spoken to people.

Some of you are nuts if you don't think an AD asking for $ and weeks away from a potential coaching change isn't sitting down with people. This is big boy business.
