I understand the Knoxville folks not being the biggest fans of this, but throw us Midstate fans a bone every now and again.

Seeing a game in Nashville without having to suffer in Vandy's hole of a stadium is gonna be nice.

easier to fly into Nasheville for those of us outside the homeland

much cheaper trip for me to go to Nasheville as I can get a direct SW flight - excited about the game

Some of those 23 have to be walk on's right. They don't effect the 85 and probably don't effect the EEs either. Good news is that all of the scholly guys are apparently graduating and making room.

JONES: "By December, 23 of the 24 members of our senior class will have their degrees."

Will this increase the number if players we can sign in the '15 class? I know some have said as low as 12-15 will be signed but if that many are graduating why would we not be able to sign a full class of 25?

First, not all those guys are scholarship players. Second, I'm not even sure where the number 24 comes from. Utsports.com doesn't list 24 seniors. It only has 18 as seniors or redshirt seniors. I thought, "well, maybe they're counting redshirt juniors." But there are 18 more of those.

Right. I'm guessing there are 24 "academic seniors" even though there aren't 24 "eligibility seniors."

Not to be a jerk, but why wouldn't someone be a fan of this?

Beats me. I live 10 minutes from Neyland, cut a check every year to buy my tickets, and I think its awesome.

Still get 7 home games and an easy trip to Nashville.

Hell, I'll be honest. UAB in Neyland? Meh. I'll go, but meh. UAB in Nashville? Already making plans.

This is a great point. Moving a cupcake game to a place like LP ensures a big crowd because its something different. Beats seeing a 3/4 filled Neyland with no energy.

Because, IMO, there's nothing better than spending a fall day or night with 105,000 of my Volunteer brethren in Neyland Stadium.

The entire stadium at LP field doesn't have the history, the tradition, or the vibe that one patch of grass at Neyland stadium has.

JMO...

Yes, and they are throwing the West TN fans one as well. I can only make one a year in Knoxville, but I would be more than willing to make the 3 hour trip to Nashville.

There are many, many UT fans in West TN. I was there when we played Wyoming back when Clausen was QB. Great idea.

It's an extra game in the state of TN, isn't it? They're not taking away any home games in Neyland are they?

that's my question, are they?

The article on utsports says they will still have 7 home games in Neyland. So this game at LP field is like a bonus it appears.

I think it will not only be great for recruiting but it lets UT take a dump on Vandy by playing a game in Nashville. Imagine how pissed off we'd be if Vandy was going to play some neutral site game in Knoxville?

I love that they're doing this.

I'd doubt we'd even notice they were in town honestly. They might be able to sell out a high school stadium if they do a lot of marketing.

Sounds like CBJ is letting some of those RS JRs know that they'll be making room for a full class in 2015?

sounds like it - i bet a few heart to hearts will be happening about the odds of them contributing at UT - people always say "kicked to the curb" and make it really negative

but there are a lot of kids that once they see they won't play want to look elsewhere at a place where they may be able to get on the field

not always as negative as some make it out to be - a lot of times it is more of a mutual thing to part ways

SIAP I'm way behind today. Did espn ever show the behind the scenes look at our new facilities yesterday? I had the tv on espnu all day while also following the fax cam/war room and VN on laptop. I saw the lady that was covering us for espn say they were gonna do a piece on our new $50 mil facilities early yesterday at like 7:00 am central or so, but never saw it.

Maybe I missed it, idk. Anyone know if they ever ended up showing it? I saw where she was at the fueling station or whatever it's called later in the day where players get different protein shakes and whatnot, but never saw a tour of all the new facilities like she said.

Other than that, I gotta say, I thought they talked about us more and we got better exposure than I was expecting even if they didn't show all the new facilities. Good pub either way. They'll be back next year too. They just don't know it yet :)
