I think regardless of how one feels about the whole thing, it was very well done. It was a performance by one of the more popular artists of the year, and the weddings tied directly into the message of the song performed.

It was emotional for a lot of people. I teared up and saw many tears by folks in the audience. Again, it's all about perspective and from what I've seen it was very well received.
