Was not the intention. They would have had straight couples married before if this was the case. The attempt was to bring in only gay couples. Throw in some straight couples to calm the waters.

So it's not possible that the whole thing was about straight couples but had to include gay couples as well as to not discriminate? Just saying. Both scenarios are equally stupid IMO and there's no reason for either to be on an event such as this. If it were straights only, I would think it was just as dumb.

Because it was a spectacle during an event about spectacles.

It's all about tweets and ratings, dude. Tell me that wasn't a way to garner viewers to see more ads and promote the actors, performers, and TV shows that surround them.

Think bigger than the gay mafia.

I haven't seen any numbers on the show. How did it do and was it received well?
