Just wanted to get this started because we all know it will pop up sooner rather than later.

Lord Jamar spoke about this months ago about Macklemore.

I liked the song. Even most of the lyrics. When they started showing gay men getting married I changed the channel. I'm not watching that sheet. If you guys enjoy it, knock yourselves out. In B4 Danl says something criticizing myself and others who share my preference for not wanting to watch a mockery. 1 man 1 woman 1 God. That's what a marriage is. Its in the Book.

How very dogmatic of you. I don't think changing the channel makes you worthy of criticism, but Christians weren't always on the right side of the issue when it came to slavery and race inequality. Christianity will come around on sexual orientation, too. May take decades, but it will happen.

If it does, those of us who are Christians have FAILED...

Sadly, there are probably those of you that feel you have failed on the issues of slavery and race inequality.

Are you freaking serious?

What a douche. Whitey still keeping you down? The white devil still preaching from that dirty black book. Those damn Christians still keeping you from sitting in front of the bus?

Sadly, I live in an area rampant with bigotry, racism, and sexism. Especially among the leadership and elders of the area. It does still exist.

Do these people keep you from moving forward in life? Are they oppressing you?

Serious questions.

No, but then I'm a white guy. Let's just say it's amazing how much you hear working in a small restaurant where local leaders gather to discuss things.

I would suggest you guys move then. If it's that bad let the community fall on its face then. Racist and bigots are everywhere. That doesn't make it a excuse.

Regulator tied racism and bigotry to Christians. As to generalize. As a white Christian I suppose I am a racist bigot.

Obama has done a fine job bringing us all together. Don't you think?

I made no direct attack toward you. I didn't say all Christians. My statement would be no less true than saying that some Muslims are jihadists and seek to destroy America and anything associated with America.

Don't jump to conclusions.

White, middle-aged male here, BTW.

I think he said "those of you" referring to some not all. As a Christian myself I take no offense to that. I believe it's a fair point.

But as I said, where I live I have seen and heard it firsthand. That doesn't paint all Christians with a broad brush. It's simply ignorance, no matter what religion or denomination.

I don't care what color you are.

Every word of your first post above came from the perspective of a white man speaking to a black man, so you seemed to have some interest about what my skin color might be.

Are you a Christian?

I was raised as a Christian, but I've soured on the church, in general.

Then I take your comment as directed toward me and my fellow Christians. I find your statement to be bias from your souring of the church.

You can act like you didn't but you know you are generalizing us.

So will you be watching the Grammys?

Even if he did generalize, which I don't believe, how are you not judging him right now?

Gay marriages on an awards show? Was this a publicity stunt? It appears to me the networks are treating gay marriage like a sideshow at the circus.

I have to disagree on this one. Historically it is the White person that holds everyone down regardless of race.
