Most football players degrees, no matter what school they go to, mean literally nothing. A communications degree is a communications degree..can't polish a turd with a fancy name.

Their board is hilarious. All they talk about is how anyone could turn down a "degree from Vanderbilt" like it has the Midas Touch. The best ones are the people who scoff at the idea of not being a Vandy grad yet post with the grammatical prowess of a 6 year old.

They seriously have no clue about football. James Franklin was their Pied Piper who ditched them for some fresher meat.

Upon further reading it is apparent that most posters on that board have no idea where the name of their school came from and that a Commodore isn't a pirate..

Yep. I actually saw a thread over there a few days ago that was supposed to "disspell the myth" that UT is only down because of poor recruiting. Their evidence? Our Rivals recruiting rankings going back to 2008.

They were all living it up thinking that UT is somehow so top to bottom inept that 4 coaches in a row have squandered world-class talent on par with UF, UGA, and Bama.

Meanwhile, the West End boys are world-beaters with 2* talent, which OBVIOUSLY means they are going to be national contenders once their 3* talent comes of age.

A UT fan finally showed up and explained how terrible our classes actually were, but he was drowned out by the noise.

They also like to move the goal posts. At one point, they were the better program because they were recruiting better, but now they are better because they're simply a better football team, despite the fact that we are recruiting on an elite level while their class is ranked below the mighty Tulane Green Wave.

Vandy's classes haven't been that good to begin with.

2010-71st (no 4 stars)
2011-61st (one 4 star but he died tragically)
2012-29th
2013-19th

They have no cushion for a disaster class like this one. They will have a good QB (McCrary) going forward which may help though.

Do they have an O line to protect that QB? Not to mention that Matthews was 60%+ of their offense.

And I forgot to mention that Vandy's oline coach just jumped ship. This is getting better by the day. SIAP.
Rivals is still listing Sherfield as a soft verbal but IMO he's gone. Put's vandys class at - 8. The ship has been righted.

Vandy is looking for a new slogan. This was posted on vandymania- "We will play with intellectual brutality and defend ever blade of grass!!!!" Intellectual brutality. Brilliant. Sounds like somebody already has had a few concussions.

I just love how they think they needed to hire the "Anti-Franklin" just because of the way he left. Uh, no guys. You should probably try to hire another James Franklin since he, you know, actually won football games.

McCrary may help them (from being a total disaster). Sorry for not being more dramatic on the downturn of the SEC's traditional doormat team.

Btw, Matthews was closer to 30% of the offense not 60%.
