Rivals -
...Sarkisian's true measure - wins and losses - is yet to be determined. But the new USC coach has a chance to thrill the fan base with a big National Signing Day - and there's a good chance things could go in the Trojans' favor with the top California prospects.
The tippy-top of the list might be the most difficult, as five-star athlete Adoree' Jackson is still so tough to read and is giving no hints as to where his recruitment is headed.
Sources say Jackson's family back in Illinois would prefer him closer to home - and that favors Tennessee and Florida in a big way. The Volunteers and Gators have put in tremendous work trying to sway Jackson to the SEC and location - along with their track programs - could be a big selling point for both.
According to another source, USC is not willing to give an inch in his recruitment, though. Jackson is being heavily and aggressively pursued by the new coaching staff and they even traveled to Illinois for an in-home visit last week.
Serra has been a sort of USC pipeline recently with Robert Woods, Geroge Farmer, Marqise Lee, and in this recruiting cycle, Jalen Greene is going there. But Jackson is unique because he's not a lifelong L.A. kid, so circumstances are different.
Still, USC is right in the mix for him even though the SEC schools might have a slight edge in the closing weeks before signing day. Jackson still has one official visit to schedule and it very well could be to USC.
