Republicans Belief in Evolution plummets

Saying things like 'abort babies and suck out stem cells with a turkey baster,' brings anything to the conversation? Seriously? You're sick.

I used harsh phrasing to emphasize that I don't care how it's done if it can help people that are living with problems. If thats what it takes to help people walk, see, breath, move, live life then so be it.

Point taken. And your statement was offensive. We'll agree to disagree.

What's offensive is that three posters have taken up 30 pages in a thread only to further entrench themselves in their opinion.

I'm so offended it makes my tucus hurt.

Well, not everyone can be as open minded as you.
Still, good to know that you take ownership of your butthurt.

The conversation has been pretty much the same in the other thread, might as well merge em up.. :)

Because evilution = sin! I'm seriously interested if anyone here can debunk evolution without citing the bible. I'll split the Nobel prize money 50/50

It can't be done.

It makes me wonder though. Who would win in a no holds barred, scrap to the death cage match between Jesus the carpenter and a velociraptor.

On one hand you've got magic but on the other, you've got a vicious carnivorous killing machine.

The velociraptor would have ended up inside some pigs, bro. That one's easy.

I don't even know what you two are going on about, because I'm not going to read this dumpster fire of a thread, but I hope you realize this is one of the dumbest non-arguments ever formed, right?

Yes I understand according to you it's dumb. Good for you. Like you said, you don't know what we are talking about but it's dumb. What you said is dumb in of itself.

It can easily be done. Especially since there are scientists out there who do not agree with evolution. The problem is if evidence is produced that debunks it, people like you would find a convoluted way to say its false. Or you would dismiss the evidence all together. So trying to change the mind of someone like you is futile.

So please continue to believe that single cell organisms "evolved" into all of the complex life on earth.

Magic>>>>>>>>velociraptor all day :p

See. You make silly assumptions. I'd change my position on evolution if ONE fossil was found in a manner that was inconsistent with the evolutionary process.

In a New York second.

Unquestionably.

To date, it hasn't happened.

You base your belief on "feelings" and what you've been told was "Truth". I put my faith into science, reason and logic. Science isn't perfect, it hasn't answered all the questions - but it learns everyday. The burden of proof is on the one making the extraordinary assertions. Using the bible as a platform for "Truth", because the bible says it true is hardly a logical position.

The fact is there are many articles that have debunked evolution, obviously you do not want to look at them. I wonder why there are scientists who completely disagree with evolution? Evolution is untestable in laboratory conditions and therefore can never be proven. I took physics, molecular biology and several anthropology courses in college. I asked each of those professors stances on evolution, I was curious. Each one said that it's an unproven theory that cannot explain everything.

The physicist and molecular biologist said that evolution be responsible for life on earth. My physics professor explained about how precise things have to be for life to exist that simply claiming that all life evolved from single cell organisms is false. The burden of proof is negated when discussing things with atheists because they do not accept the same burden when it is placed on them.

So your statement that you would change your kind is false. Plenty of info exists that debunks evolution and it's easy to research. I base my belief on the information I learned from taking those science courses.

BigOrangeTrain, if so many articles have debunked evolution(lol), why is there a near scientific consensus that it exists?

Are all scientists just a bunch if god hatin' satanists? Or is it simply that you yourself lack the necessary mental acuity to understand the concept?

I'm leaning towards the latter, as sad as it may be, considering even children understand the basic idea these days.

Actually you are both equivocating.
There is a consensus that evolution (changes such as mutation, NS, gene drift)exists. In fact, saying evolution 'exists' is a little strange. Those things metioned are factual evidence.
However Percy, you are taking the word evolution defined one way and then substituting an entirely different definition. Evolution (Darwinism) is a theory that has a lot of problems. Further, stating a consensus of opinion does not make something exist or become true. ad populum.

I'l keep putting my faith in the scientific community, you just keep putting yours in an old book which claims that two of every animal walked peacefully onto a boat to avoid a flood.

Shake on it?

Sorry to tell you but there isn't a near consensus. How could you possibly know this? To actually know this you would have to conduct a study with every scientist within the scientific community and find out where they stand. You have not done that. So the best you can say is there is a consensus that believes in evolution.

Evolution is very easy to understand. I guess the many problems associated with it are too difficult for you to understand. I have come to believe that evolution is false through my study of physics and molecular biology.

Someone posted a study on the scientific consensus of evolution, and while I can't rememeber the exact figure, it was pretty damn high.

Feel free to research it yourself, unless you're trying to avoid disappointment.
