Good stuff Persian, thanks.

Not an expert by any means, but I've looked into this a little and some things that I found that work for me include the way certain players are paired up in certain formations.

Generally, I try to get low attacking defenders, they typically stay back in position for me and don't push forward as much leaving me open to counters.

When I play a formation with a CAM, I try to always pair them with a striker with a high attack rate, otherwise I notice a lot of congestion and not enough separation between them.

I usually play a 4-4-2 and I try to have one of the strikers with a low attack rate, someone like a Berbatov that will hang back a little and has a good touch and a strong shot.

In a 4-3-3 I make sure my midfielders have a high defend rate. Takes a good fit tho, because if they are high/high they run out of stamina a lot quicker than normal just running back and forth all match. Ramires is going to be my target for the squad i'm building now.

Yeah you seem pretty spot on. Although I don't agree with a Low attacking striker on any situation. I think a CAM with a nice shot is sufficient enough while the other 2 strikers can do their own thing.
Yeah if you can find a guy with high high that's an interesting combination. Basically your right you need to make sure they are for cause they will be running a lot. Also very fast. But I think if you can grasp onto a defense if high defense work rate fit every defensive position, you don't need another
High defensive work rate player.

For a 4-3-3 this is the perfect lineup IMO

ST: High Attack, Low Defense
RW/LW: High Attack, Low Defense
RM/LM: High Attack, Medium Defense
RCM/LCM: High Attack, Medium Defense
CCM: Medium Attack, High Defense
RB/LB: Medium Attack, High Defense
CB: Low Attack, High Defense

Oh ok how's he suiting you? Is he worth it?

He's an extremely good all around player. The pace with the dribbling ability is sick. Personally feel like he's worth a little less but still had to get him haha. He's sick on the game though. The best player I have for value is Aubameyang from Dortmund. He can absolutely fly. I was fortunate enought to get Garreth Bale in a pack so I cashed in on a lot of good players off of selling him

I just got Alaba. Boss status

The TOTW this week has this defender named Benatia and his in form card is CRAZY. Dribbling shooting and passing suck, but his Defense is 90 and his heading is 87! That's crazy good. On top of that I gave him a sentinel chemistry card and cranked up his defense to 93 and heading to 90. For someone that gifted you would think his flaw would be slow pace around to 30s to 50s but his pace is actually 75! 93 defense, 90 header, and 75 pace for a defender? This in form has to be the best defender in the game. On top of that he has high defense work rate

Nice. How much coin?

What sucks was that I bought 83 Benatia in form yesterday for 60 k and once they announced an 84 in form Benatia would be in team of the week this week today the price from the 60 k dropped on average to 45 k

So with no online until further notice, Ive taken over Burton Albion, playing on Pro. Should be horrendous but fun.

I'm liking this years game more and more as I get more time to play it. They've fixed a lot of things that always bugged me, most notably the ridiculous amount of goals that would be scored on the 45th and 90th minutes.

The only thing I think that I really don't like is the fact that the CPU blocks ENTIRELY too many shots and crosses. Having a distance shooter on your team is basically pointless because the CPU probably blocks 99/100 shots taken from outsides the box. I've probably played 50-60 games of this years version so far, and I think I still have yet to score from outside the 18 with the exception of a couple free kicks.

Learning how to dribble effectively and use some basic skill moves consistently it makes a whole worlds of difference of opening up space.

High attack for fullbacks will help keep the ball in your 3rd. It won't hurt you at the back if you have a DM with low attack rate.

If you can pull off a skill move into a shot anywhere on your side of the pitch, let it rip. No matter the distance out, goalies are evidently mesmerized by skill moves.

I don't really have any trouble getting the space for shots. The defense just always seems to have at least their back 4 and usually more parked directly in front if goal, and block almost any shot.

With regards to skill moves, is there any way to change the load sequence to the arena to practice those instead of these damn passing and FK drills? The arena is infinitely more fun and useful, but I can't find an option to change.

Playing a 4-1-4-1 right now with my Brazilian FUT squad, got it to a 78 rating with 100 chemistry and I'm just missing my last 5 or so major pieces, but I'm loving playing this game mode. I'm sticking with the single player seasons until I finish the team then I'll play online.

I want to add Willian and Neymar, David Luiz and Dani Alves along with Ramires and Hulk. Definitely limited my team by trying to add just the Brazilians in the Premier League, I had to go to other leagues to fill my team, but they play so well together.
