Mack Brown out at Texas

It wasn't long ago that the "Mack's gone" speculation was Twitter and social media hype. Sometimes they get it. Sometimes they don't.

Depend on who "they" are.....:)

The football world needs to realize.... Stop by VolNation and we can tell them anything they need to know...:hi:

You would think Tennessee fans out of all people would understand not to believe the Twitter and social media hype that comes with modern coaching searches.

I believe Mack's gone though. He had to win that game against Baylor to have any shot of retaining his job.

I believe Mack's gone, but I don't believe Saban will take his place.

If he does that, he's more of a low-down POS than we all thought he was.

"I will not be the next head coach at Alabama."

Per his 60 Minutes interview, when asked if he regretted saying that: "Yes, I do. It made me feel terrible, because I'd gone back on my word as a man. I won't do that again."

Then later in that same interview: "I'm happy here at Alabama, my wife is happy, and we have no plans on leaving."

(All quotes paraphrased)

NFL.com is reporting Saban is negotiating with ALABAMA for a new contract around 7 million a year. I believe these rumors were started for Sabo the elf to get a raise. I would be shocked as well if the midget man went to Texas.

Alabama has been trying to get Saban to sign a new contract for 2 weeks.

Lots of ppl picking up this story. Radio stations former players etc... I'm guessing they are all running with this same guys claim

I was just looking at Mack Brown's record. Hard to believe he's been there 14 years. Seems like just yesterday he had NC rockin'. For those who say we pulled the trigger on Fulmer too early, check out Brown's record the past few years.

Interesting! You never know, I guess time will tell! I would love to see Alabama go into a total meltdown mode ... Even better we get one or two of their recruits!!!

:eek:lol::eek:lol:

Bama's been negotiating with Sexton for about 10 days. The contract was put on his desk yesterday. Saban returns from a recruiting trip at the end of the week.

http://http://thefarmclub.net/2013/12/10/texas-football-mack-brown-resigns-sources-put-nick-saban-successor

According to the source in which Cook lists as a “prime source, close to the University of Texas’ Athletic Department, and the school’s Board of Regents”, Brown’s resignation and the hiring of Saban were in place before the Longhorns 30-10 loss to Baylor this past Saturday. The source hinted that the university wanted to preserve Brown’s legacy in Austin, which includes a 66-9 record between 2001-2009, and a National Championship victory in 2005.

With the word of Saban to Texas flying across the web, the question does arise: why leave Alabama? Cook’s source claims that bad investments at Alabama brought along by boosters, in which Saban – a principal investor – took a financial hit from. Said bad investments have led to a tarnished relationship with the university.
