Could our offensive skill be a young college version of the Bears? For the next few years... Hmmm

Forte-Hurd
Marshall-North
Alshon-Pearson/Malone

Sounds crazy but has a lot of potential

Soccer is a fantastic sport and the World Cup is, easily one of my three favorite sporting events. Some of you are missing a great big world out there. It does seem the younger generation is much more receptive to the sport than the older generation of "communist kickball" (Because communist countries are so good at it) snickering.

That said, we aren't beating Germany, have about a 25% shot at Portugal and Ghana is loaded with talent that has been hard for us to handle in previous meetings. We need some 2002-style good fortune.

My mind is boggled at how we're still touching base with random recruits like Grier and Chubb.

If Saban to Texas rumors really get going I bet we slather the hot sauce on Cornwell. Same with Watson and Clemson.

It feels like we turned the difficulty back down to Varsity after playing on Heisman for 3 years.

No worries. We have like 6 German born players in our pool (American servicemen doing work). We will finish in the top 2 of the group.

Here's to hoping that Portugal has an awful game against us. They're not much outside if Ronaldo, but that's still a lot

Yeah that would work well. Ozil, Mueller, and Gotze play a lot of midfield. They can do whatever, they really are stacked. If they don't come out of that table on top, I'll be surprised.

If the US can make it out of that group, they have a good shot of getting to the final 8. The group we match up after the round robin play is weak.

If Germany doesn't come out on top, it'll be because of their defense. Hasn't been that solid.

I did say they were "hurting" in the striker position. Mamba can confirm that.

sure...we got klose, reuss...real good one, gomez, kießling...he is not nominated....but the top striker in germany.
and guys like götze, özil, schweinsteiger....all able to score...i´m not worried about strikers. defensively we run around like:

eier_freie_waehler_19913.jpg

the worst thing is, that we miss sami until the wc....khedira played in stuttgart before he started playing madrid....a friend of mine knows him and he thinks that he is back to the wc.

What are they saying in Germany about our group mamba? I assume most are backing Germany and Portugal to finish 1-2?

i don´t think that it comes down to a showdown between germany and portugal....also our national team coach already said, that he got the us states on the bill....and i think the same way...

the us closed the gap in soccer so fast....i whish we had done the same in football...and if you underestimate any opponent in this groupe....you´ll not be able to reach the play offs....and the us already beaten germany....and you got many experienced players, playing in europe, so i think it comes down to the fact:

which team uses the preperation time before the wc best ?

All you have to do is look at the offensive schemes Clawson's run everywhere else compared to UT. He must have had very little say in the design of the offense, and he didn't have any position coaches of his choosing.

Actually, he brought in Scott with him (WR)

Absolutely no way. I know 90% or a little more could care less about soccer, but America drew the group of death. Ghana has knocked us out of the last 2 WCs, Portugal is a great team with the best player in the world, and Germany in my opinion is the best team in the world. Barring we play out of our minds, we're screwed. Sorry, that was my soccer rant, now back to the Souths sport. Merricka!!!
Ronaldo is the best player on earth, and Messi is out of this world.

Klose is old and Podolski is hurt. They have been experimenting with a false 9. You don't do that unless you are weak at striker.

And Portugal is not "elite."

Germany will be fine. Muller is not a traditional striker but he's played that role from time to time as has Reus. I'm hoping Klose has the legs to do one more.
