'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

"My emotions are very high. Everything that we've wanted to do is right in front of us," said the 6-foot-3, 275-pound Lambert. "Knowing I got one more game till I'm at UT, I've just been trying to grind real hard with my teammates. We're very focused coming into this game. Knowing there's only one game left, we have to go hard. We're going to make this game a very good game.

"It's been a big focus to me knowing that at the next school I'll be playing in a five technique and getting to the QB is a big task," Lambert said. "(Tennessee's coaches') message to me is to make sure things are handled at GMC first so you can take care of business up here at UT."

"My grandmother is very proud of me and she always tells me before I step on the field, pray first," said Lambert, who will have several family members in Mississippi for the NJCAA title bout.

Having seen his future school, Tennessee, add another big-time talent this week with the commitment of five-star wideout Josh Malone, Lambert said it's exciting to see the class the Vols are assembling. "I'm very excited because knowing you're around talent only makes yourself better, and then the team will be at its peak," Lambert said. "And then, no one will stop us."

Nothing really new from AU -

Reports regarding Lambert's trip to Auburn last weekend are cloudy. Lambert remains committed to Tennessee and visited with teammate and Auburn commit, Devaroe Lawrence. When reached for comment following his visit, Lambert told AuburnSports that nothing had changed with his commitment status, but he did admit that he was interested in Auburn. This week, Lambert has maintained behind the scenes, with both Auburn and Tennessee, he's committed to the Vols and doesn't plan on flipping. But that hasn't stopped Garner from visiting the family on Thursday night.

We need this one more that Auburn SC. Just ease back a little. :whistling:

Talent wants to play with talent. Not only did Malone help us solidify Lambert but ups our chance at Jackson as well.

It certainly starts the dominoes... look what Hurd did for the summer of 2013. We were stacking up elite talent like nobody's bitniz.

Anyone know if Lambert's final JUCO game at Georgia Military is streamed online? I'd like to watch him play. Thanks

That would be how I would describe the strong–side defensive end.

I went back to look at the rosters of Coach Strip’s previous places of employment and watched some 2007 Michigan videos. They used a lot of the same concepts as they are using here. Also used 310+ lbs.ers in their line. While Big Dan was the biggest Strip ever had, it wasn’t the first time he’s used a big man like that.

And that last line could be taken the wrong way.

Butch said today that we'll have several EEs here this weekend and next. Wonder if that would include Mr. Lambert? I know it wouldn't be this weekend but perhaps next?

He was speaking about visitors. EEs won't move in until January if that's what you were speaking about. Lambert plays this weekend so any visit would have to be next weekend
