My expectations are never this low. 5 wins makes me sick to my stomach.
I wasn't looking for a predefined number of wins. I was looking for two things Dooley never gave us:
1. I wanted to see the kids fight until the end. Never give up. I believe these kids truly gave their all in most games.
2. I really wanted to see us win some games we weren't supposed to win and outcoach the other team. I can't think of a single game where I felt like we outcoached the other guys. The GA game was pretty good but GA was so beat up, it was hard to tell. The whole season from a coaching perspective didn't pass the 'smell test'.
I'm not burning mattresses or calling for Butch's head. Heck, they may come out next year and coach like rock stars.
This year .... not so much. JMO.
Everybody should sack up and read everyone else's ******n posts. Jmo.
"Best Staff in the country" is a stupid argument, of course any head coach is gonna say that. It doesn't matter what the coaching staff is.
As long as you have a head guy who is the right guy thats all that matters.
Ron Zook? hahaha. Zook was a career assistant before getting the UF HC job. Butch has been a successful HC for 6 years prior to the UT. I know what you guys were saying, comparing the good recruiting, but let's not sell Jones short.
I'm getting really tired of some of you complaining about this coaching staff after they won the exact amount of games many of you predicted they would win. In August..."We're a 5-6 win team." In December..."We only won 5 games, FAHR EVERYBODDDYYY!!!!" smh.
Yes, our staff could have done better, as all staffs could have. Look at the mistakes the almighty Saban made the other day. The fact is we have a bottom tier SEC roster at the moment, Saban would likely have the same record with this bunch. And the last thing we need is a new coaching staff in Knoxvile, we need stability above all else. Recruiting is on fire and that combined with coaching stability is how we're going to get back to winning games. No short cuts. So let's save the fahr coaches talk for at least another season or two.
So that whole beating the number 8 team in the country didn't lead you to think we outcoached them? I think Spurrier even said he was outcoached.
Can't win with some people.
