First off....thanks for the compliments fellas.
The feels....ooooh the feels.
Secondly, Ron...when have I said I "hate your optimism"? Those words have never left my...err...hands. In fact, I think I've said I admire it. The thing that irks me is your preaching to the masses and rallying the board to quit discussing relevant topics which might not be in the most positive light.
I'll pause for the irony, considering my literary novel of a post earlier.
That should do it.
Here's the thing, if you don't like someone's moaning, don't read them. Granted, Bruin went crazy for a few weeks and took over entire threads but you went postal in the opposite direction--you rallied the RF against him and lobbied for people to put him on ignore as if he was the gestapo, spreading propaganda--all the while having an almost equal amount of posts as he did during that time.
He was incessant and, at times, annoying but you were violating the very same principle you were rallying against.
How's that any different?
Now, I must've missed the posts where people were calling for heads to roll after the season. I don't have as much time to peruse the board as I used to but, I'll say this regarding the subject...
There are coaches that might be available over the next few months that I'd like to have, in lieu of a few staff members of our own. That doesn't mean we should start shopping for new coaches...or that I'm even right. I think continuity on the staff is an under appreciated aspect and I'd like to afford them the opportunity to see if they can succeed.
As far as my posts on the outcome of the season...it just ended. And yes, I'm disappointed about it, especially the VU loss. It's been six years since we've been relevant in the SEC and I've reached my threshold for losing.
The "wait 'til next year" mantra has been recited (by me) over and over and again since the end of the Outback Bowl in 2006. My posts have no agenda, they're as objective as I can be as a life-long, orange-blooded Tennessean who has come to expect more from the administration, on down.
I invite criticism to my ramblings, don't expect others to always agree with my opinions, nor to I cater to other's, but my posts where I lament on things like the VU loss or this season or whatever you consider to be "crying" are often cathartic but interspersed with a little humor.
If my posts aren't to your liking, ignore them...or me. But I'm not going to stop posting my thoughts, positive or otherwise, because you don't want to hear them.
