'14 TN WR Josh Malone (UT commit 12/4/13)

My favorite from the Clemson board

"What Josh and his family should be thinking about is this:

If he signs with Tennessee, he puts himself and the University of Tennessee in a bad position with the way his recruitment was handled. The chances of him ultimately benefiting from the "benefits" they have given him during recruiting (or have promised him in the future) are slim to none in this day and age of widespread investigations of recruiting violations.

This hopefully won't be an issue, because he realizes that his football future is much more of a sure thing at Clemson. He will get a better education, better coaching, and be playing for coaches who do things the right way."

Way to question his and his family's character!!!!!1

Coaches who do things the right way? Just because we have more to sell at almost every level and are taking advantage of it doesn't mean we are cheating, little man.

lol

I find it really funny how every fan base accuses all other fan bases of cheating, being rednecks, bad at playing football, always putting the '$' to replace an 'S', etc. It's the same stuff from every fan base. :eek:lol:

A friend of mine is a UNC alum/fan who follows pretty closely and he and his message board friends swear UT boosters bought M. North's father a new boat in order to sign him. :lolabove:

Was it a nice boat?

I am not one of those that claims to be an insider, but my buddy was just getting off a plane with Azanni who said he is hopeful, but still gave it 50/50. He said he spent all day with him yesterday. He did say the connection with the incoming Clemson QB is the main problem.

Just passing along. I know it's nothing new.

Maybe it's just me, but that doesn't sound all that good IMO. Hopeful and 50/50? If that is the feeling the staff has going into today then I'm not sure it's going to end well. Still cant believe he would choose Clemson of all places. Just crazy to me.

The Clem$on fan talking about sleeping well because they don't pay players...

:eek:lol:

You could fill a boat with pics of Clem$on signees flashing thousands

Agreed. I haven't got my hopes up. Hopefully we will pull him though.

They are mad because A. You are right, we are a superior program historically and B. We are about to get the recruit that they want so badly. Its cute when fans of inferior schools throw logic out the window in a fit of jealous rage.

Don't forget they and a lot of folks are mad that despite our loosing season everyone can see the momentum we are gaining. We won't be irrelevant to much longer and that argument will be nullified.

Surely we wouldn't expect ZA to tell a random fan on a plane we have Malone in the bag would we???

If he said its 50/50 that's exactly what he should say regardless of where this stands

I don't think we're cheating but if we are it's been worth it with the class that has been out together

TIFWIW an employee of mine who's grandson is on the SC team told me Josh's mom wants him to stay in state at UT. Says he is a momma's boy and will do what she wants.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to it, as I try not to when I venture off our boards. You're going to see blind homerism and a lot of that kind of stuff on any free board, IMO.

I mainly stay on our rivals paysite, and you don't see a lot of that. Most people there understand the position that Tenn is in, and are happy that it at least seems to be coming down to a coin flip. Just depends on which selling points end up weighing the most on his decision, IMO.

Yea this is really coming down to the wire.

Dabo and company well have done an amazing job if they land Malone.

Our staff has invested a lot of time and energy on Josh and gave it their best shot.

Recruits you have to bribe or play in the grey areas for never turn out being worth it. You can't have a character kid that you have to bribe to get in your program. I'd think the Kiffin experiment would have taught us something about dirty recruiting not being successful in the long run.

Butch is doing things the right way. Let the haters hate.

how a school whose sole national championship comes in the danny ford era could accuse another school of cheating is beyond me

cheating was an institution at clemson - i have no reason to believe dabo is doing it on a wide scale but know your past

clemson has no business calling out anyone - they are lucking they weren't SMU'd they cheated so bad for so long

Agreed. Both staffs have put their best efforts into his recruitment. Kid has to make the best decision for himself.
