"I like Tennessee's momentum heading down the stretch, but I don't think he's told either staffs which makes me think he hasn't fully come to a conclusion yet."
Can you give your prediction?
"Not ready to say that, but I think Tennessee has done all it could to convince Josh to be a Vol. If he chooses Clemson on Wednesday it won't be because Tennessee didn't try."
Between Hurd and Malone, which commit would mean more to momentum and skill?
"Hurd was a huge commitment in terms of giving Jones some credibility, as did Todd Kelly Jr. committing just a few days before Hurd.
Both Malone and Hurd are elite playmakers. I've seen Malone a lot more and was convinced after seeing him this summer in Chicago he was a 5-star. I mean the kid lost a shoe and still beat top 100 players in the nation on a deep route.
Unfortunately I didn't get to see Hurd as much because of his injuries this spring and fall but he's a difference maker, no doubt."
What do you think of Malone's skillset?
"John and I have seen Malone countless times. He's very explosive for his size and goes up and gets the ball at its highest point. He always is a good route runner for his age and that says something about his work ethic outside of his HS practices because they rarely threw the ball before this year. Malone deserves a lot of credit for really putting in the extra time to be great.
I'm also just impressed with his savvy and swagger. I'm a big believer that as a wideout you need to have that confidence. This summer in Chicago at the Five-Star Challenge when he got rolling he was very tough to cover.
Malone will need to add some weight and that's big for him go in early at either Clemson or Tennessee to get that head start in the weight room."
