'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

This is how Tennessee has stayed in the crapper so long. These kind of kids keep getting poached. We need all the line help we can get.

With juco recruiting its never over until the ink is dry! That's true in with all revruits but much more of an issue with juco kids

He is still solid to the Vols. Auburn is making a push but there's no guarantee that they will poach him. My money is on Butch and Co. to hang on to him.

All Butch has to do is remind him of what Auburn's current DLine looks like and their year in school and show him what TN just lost and the opportunity in Knoxville.

This will be a fight for sure, but I think we win out in the end.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but what happened to recruits being told not to commit unless they were done taking visits elsewhere -or was that just urban legend. I saw Jakob Johnson also took a visit to Florida last weekend.

Butch probably LOLed when he found out it was Florida

It was urban legend.

A few months back it seemed to make sense. Many guys seemed to be close to committing to UT in the spring/summer but still wanted to take other visits so they stayed uncommitted. Then once they committed they would shut it down, there would be quotes from them "I'm done with recruiting, no more visits, I'm solid to UT." But lately some kids are still taking visits so it doesn't look to be the case anymore. None of us really know the staffs policy on visiting other schools, it's all just speculation.

Good post. Weathered was the recruit that made me think it was certainly a rule. Now I am really hopeful that is isn't a rule. If it is then we have had 2 secret visits. Hopefully that didn't happen

It could have been a rule. Lot's less leverage , even if you are Butch, when your record is 5-7 as opposed to 6-6 or 7-5 and bowl bound.
