'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

I'm not typically negative like some here, but this worries me because by all accounts, Lambert's final 2 before he committed was Tennessee and Auburn.

Auburn will NOT stop recruiting him until signing day, the same way I expect our coaches will recruit him and others they are after...some they may not be able to sign

No Lambert's final 3 was Tennessee, Auburn and Florida. Auburn and Tennessee were considered co-leader iirc.

I thought all the predictions were Florida. Either way I don't think there is a reason to panic until something comes out. Most kids are pretty solid.

All his visit proves is that Bruin was wrong (one more time) about Butch's NO MORE visits after commitment :hi:

Wasn't it Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee?

Georgia was the heavy leader for a long time but when Lambert named his finalists it was UT, UF and AU. There was a whole lot of guessing between the 3 until the morning of his announcement I think.

Either way, Auburn was in it heavy before he committed to us and they're white hot right now. I hope we hang onto Davonte. He might be our most important defensive recruit for next season.

I agree on the importance. No one is hotter than Butch on the trail though.

"Yea, there's concern. Auburn has never backed off or stopped recruiting him. Tennessee has stayed on top of things with him and are recruiting him as hard as they can."

Thigpen will be with DaVonte Lambert on Wednesday as Tennessee tries to tie up everything with their coveted junior college defensive end commitment.

Lambert visited Auburn Saturday for the Tiger's big game against Alabama with fellow Georgia Military College defensive lineman and Auburn commitment Devaroe Lawrence.

Lambert was just back in Knoxville with his family last weekend and he told Austin Price Sunday night that he was still a solid commitment to Tennessee. But, don't expect Auburn to just go away either as the Tigers are hot not only on the field but on the recruiting trail right now. Butch Jones will see Lambert next week just days before the junior college signing period opens.

well....****!

? Says he's still a solid to Tennessee. I fail to see why someone would be upset by this news. Of course Lambert is still being chased by other schools. Hopefully, Butch gets Lambert to sign the dotted line in a couple of weeks and move on from there.

Guys, honestly not trying to stir the nest. but here is what AU Rivals said after Lambert's visit -

The JUCO DT attended last night's game with teammate and Auburn commit Devaroe Lawrence. Lambert committed to Tennessee over Auburn and Florida in June, but he tells me that Auburn is still in the picture. He said the fans last night "showed a lot of love."

As I've reported before, Lambert's relationship with Garner is probably one of the strongest I've seen. He considers Garner a father like figure and has said multiple times he would love to be coached by him.

Lambert is still firm/solid to the Vols, but Auburn could make a strong push. He plans to graduate in December and enroll to the school of his choice in January.
