'14 TN WR Josh Malone (UT commit 12/4/13)

In the past we have lost recruits due to lack of effort, the inability of our coaches to sell the program and the opportunity a scholarship to the University of Tennessee brings, and, in my opinion, the lack of the coaches' desire to hit the road hard and recruit. I think its a good sign that if Josh Malone choses to attend another school, it won't be for one of these reasons.

If Josh goes to Clemson or UGA, its because he truly just wants to go to Clemson or UGA. Best of luck to him except when he plays UT. He's done things right and he's giving UT more than a fair shot to sway him.

Well said.

I can dig it.

So, you think a recruit is more important than a game against UK, in a 5 win season? Wow.

Butch called Josh Malone a "program changer" the other day. Does a win vs Ky change the program one way or another tomorrow? I'll say it again. I'd rather get Malone's commitment on Wednesday than a 5th win tomorrow.

Right now toss up between UGA, UT, and Clemson. Dabo is in Gallatin right now as well. Let's hope Butch pulls the ole delay tactic and won't let Dabo in.

I would think the decision is already made. What could any coach say at this point that they haven't already told him?

From what I've heard about the Malone family's character, Josh wouldn't be wasting other coaches time if they didn't have at least a shot. I really think he had decided on UT and then with recent events and his trip to Clemson, he's gotten a little nervous and wants to make sure he's done his due diligence.

That said, I personally think recruits should not set a date for an announcement unless they already know where they are going. Scheduling an announcement while you are still undecided adds pressure and could force a decision when what the recruit really needs is more time to think and consult with family and counselors.

Wow. Ok. To each his own.

Down to Clemson and UT. Dabo was in this afternoon but Josh is going to dinner with Rashaan Gaulden and Derek Barnett tonight. My money is on the Vols. All my money.

^^^^This! CBJ & staff have handled this kids recruiting well & we'll thank them...but J Hurd has poured it on hard & will deserve a big thanks as well.

A loss to UK will be a disaster of a first season.
