What pisses me off about them painting the rock is that it was probably one out our tool bag students that a bama fan
You definitely would have to be a tool bag to go to school at the University of Tennessee and write for them to go to hell. I mean, I get that you don't want to pay the out of state tuition, and might have grown up liking another team but that is over the top.

Greg McCleroy wasn't a huge talent. Nor was Josh Heupel. I'm not calling him anything but I'm just saying you surround a QB with talent and see what happens.

We played in a sec title game w rclausen at qb.

Bb is right. Much to my surprise Worley has progressed like crazy over the last few weeks. You don't need an elite qb in college. Just a competent one

I agree. Worley just needs to be a game manager similar to who you mentioned and not turn the ball over. Although young at the skill positions there is definitely talent around him plus a veteran Oline.

He simply just has to get his completion % up and that does seem to be slowly happening. There have just been too many drives that have ended where the wr has zero chance to make a play bc the ball isn't even close to catchable. I'm sure some are caused by timing issues or poor routes by the young wr's or even pass rush but Worley has had plenty that were without question squarely on him.
I understand he's still pretty green as a starter and sometimes it just takes some qb's longer to settle in and really start to feel comfortable making all the throws. I'm really hoping this glove thing works out and he lights bama's arse up like Peyton did down there in 95. Maybe he gained some much needed confidence on the final drive vs usce. I'd love nothing more than to watch Worley have his breakout game Saturday and put up 300+yds and 4-5 td's 0 ints(in the 1st half :)).

I am not hating on Worley,,, I think he is one tuff MF'er but he can't hit a target, his is often saved from a bad throw by his receivers ......

I believe he is a VFL and deserves to be honored as such ... but the truth is he will NOT WIN us a game, he may not loose us a game, but he can't be counted on to win one when the chips are down..

We need our running game to step it up this week...

It's true that Worley has missed a BUNCH of wide open receivers--BUT that throw that North is getting all the credit for catching (well-deserved) was perfectly thrown by Worley--anywhere else from where it was thrown and it's not even close to being a catch. He deserves half the credit for that play.....

So, in the crunch, he's made the throws. I just want him to be more consistent--and don't even know if that's a function of his receivers not running routes accurately, or just his own inability to run through his progressions...BUT, he's still learning--and more importantly, he's not turning the ball over. :salute:

you answered your own statement... again I am not bashing him... I just think this board has a tendency to over state every thing they read.

Worley plays within the system that Butch gives him... but if we are going to be an elite team, we need a QB with the talent to win the game when it is all on the line.

John Parker Wilson and Justin Worley seem comparable to me.

Just saying

Just looking at photos on UTSports and noticed that Devaun Swafford still has his black stripe. I don't know about you guys, but without a doubt the kid has earned it. Jmo

Coastys point seems to be JW isn't an all SEC type talent. He doesn't have to be for this team IMO.

He also seems to be saying he has questions if he is good enough for us to be contenders in the east.

All fair points and I agree completely with him.

SIAP...

I believe Mo Couch's suspension is up soon. Any chance we see him again?

I actually thought he'd be back last week at the latest assuming he paid the $ back. NCAA is a joke. Something has to change and soon. The different penalties and suspensions they dish out makes me sick.

Guess who'll be suiting up for the the red's Saturday? Yep, future first rounder Haha Clinton-Dix. I guess he paid whatever $ he received back without any problems bc he didn't miss more than two games smh.

One way or another I really hope Mo Couch hasn't played his last game for UT. He's a nice guy with a wife and young child that truly loves UT. F*** the NCAA and F*** bama!

I thought I remembered that they removed all the black stripes that were left near the end of fall camp.

Good to see Worley getting some props on here - he deserves it. Now, what would his completion percentage and YPC be if the OC called some simple slants, digs, crossings and check downs instead of so many of those bubbles, swings, sideline and go patterns? The wheel route has worked for a few completions. They have not throw any 4 wide streak passes - and that was a big play Cincy used a lot. Don't have a TE that can go deeper yet until Branisel and the recruits get in the flow.

Just saying that Coach Jake needs to help Worley get in rhythm and show some different stuff. Maybe he will in this one.

You sir have hit the nail on the head. Bray was talented but not competent. A strong mind makes the best QB.

From today's practice.

I wasn't doubting you. I just could have sworn they were all gone already. Guess not. Not sure why he would still have one since he's started and scored on defense and special teams.

Why I was curious too. Don't see how he hasn't earned it?

My wife is pretty smart... and understands the game well, but I wouldn't want her to line up against Bama.

I think Worley has done what has been asked of him and has definitely shown a lot of improvement... but the guy calling the plays needs the skills to make em

I agree. Sad situation. I hope we get him back soon and he rocks some people before the end of the year.

My guess is the biggest difference between the 2 is mo hasn't paid the money back.

I darn sure wouldn't pay it back until I was assured I would be cleared to play

25 NFL GM's? That's a lot. I hope Butch is here for a long time but if he does leave I could see it being for the NFL and I thought this before reading that. Especially if the spread offense takes off.

I don't see him leaving for a different cfb job. I think he truly loves it here and he was serious when he said this was his dream job. I just see him as more of a college coach where he's in a CEO type role as a HC with a strength in recruiting and relating to younger kids. Kinda like little Nicky.
