We lost.

This is sort of macabre, but this TN team is sending a lot of opposing players to the sidelines with injuries, at the same time we have had minimal from an actual game.

Just another small point that speaks to the mental and physical condition these guys are in.

I can only imagine what games will be like in the near future when we are appropriately stocked with talent.

True story.

Positive thoughts.

I agree with you. However, make no mistake. I am a big optimist. I was a huge Dooley supporter up until the very end. This game really should not be celebrated though. Georgia was playing 3rd string guys against us and never seemed worried. Now, I am happy we made it a game and the environment was great for visiting recruits. :peace2:

Yeah, because we weren't missing our 2nd slot WR, two of our 2 deep DTs, our arguably best RB, and two two deep players in our secondary. Injuries happen to everybody. You can try and argue that we lucked our way into a close game and the team doesn't deserve credit, but you won't be convincing me.

Was gonna post this as well. Yeah they had injuries. And so do we. And our quality depth was already deficient before that.

We outplayed UGA. Period

Their 3rd string guys are more athletic than a lot of our guys. I don't see anyone on here making that excuse for us. Play who you have to play. We played he most complete game we've played in years. We outcoached Richt and had a chance to win because of that. Quit making excuses for UGA.

No doubt. Georgia gave us nothing: No turnovers, no stupid penalties, this game was straight up.

And for that reason (unlike other close losses we've had) I think this team will build on this and get better.

Ummm, the quality of their missing players was SEVERELY better than the quality of our missing players. Did I mention SEVERELY? :ermm:

This, our SEC talent is not what it needs to be, and that should have been most apparent when their 2nd and 3rd stringers went in.

Oh, I'm not celebrating either, but I feel very encouraged after this one. I understand a loss is a loss, but this was different that the Oregon or even FL game. For the first time in 3 years, I am optimistic about the play on the field and direction of the program. We played our hearts out and were literally one play away from winning this one. Even more important, every recruit saw the passion and the hunger in this program. We're gonna take some more lumps (Mizzou looked real good for example), but I saw improvement today. The blocked punt was just one example.
