I'd definitely feel a lot better if Pig was 100% and North had gotten some reps other than showing off his catch radius while Worley sailed balls all around him. I'm still cautiously optimistic though. If Peterman plays and sparks the offense, good things could happen.

IMO, the coaches need to get the ball in North's hands more, in any fashion possible. There are multiple ways to get him the ball, and we just haven't seen it. On the other hand, I'm not sure that North's route-running is as good as the coaches would like, which probably plays a major role in his ability to get open.

I'm all for Pig playing, but given the nature of this game, I'd rather get him 100% healthy. But, that's not my decision.

How big of a legend would Peterman become if he could lead us to a win in the swamp ending the 8 year drought.

It would be a thing of greek mythology.

"Myth" is a near perfect word choice here. Stories about Peterman being the key to win this game is nothing but a myth.

Depends on the state and the school. Doesn't change the basic premise of my argument.

changing the premise wasnt my intent with that comment - i just think the number was inflated to make it seem like the kid was getting this great deal

i am not so sure that is the case - college degrees are so watered down and in many cases the colleges due little to promote the student's ability to enter and advance in a good career

never has a college degree set you apart less yet never has it cost more

to me the value differential right now is dramatic between what colleges are charging and what they are providing

SI is doing anything and everything to make themselves relevant. Not working IMO.

What I found funny is that Sports Illustrated did this interview in February but released it right now....what a joke

What is even more hilarious is the meltdown occurring in that thread. People on this site are losing their minds over something that no one is going to do anything about.

Can anyone explain why College Gameday is at North Dakota State this week?

Because espn has been saying all week that there is no good games, and it's just this week. So I guess they decided to go to the lower division Team who has been winning championships or good for a few years

I think it's just to shut up the people clamoring that College Gameday only pays attention to the the SEC and the big schools. They better hope they don't disappoint on the big stage.

I think it's pretty cool. It's the first time I'll be tuning in since the UF game last year. I mean, friggin Fargo.

it feels like a lot of you are making predictions of us getting blown out, like yall are competing to be right on how bad we suck. yall act like upsets never happen in college football.

someone could put out a prediction of UF27-UT13 and some of you would argue that we are worse than that. "no way we hold them under 30", "no way we have 100 yards rushing".

sounds like the consensus is that they put up more than 30, we have under 7 and put up like 30 yards rushing and 45 yards passing.

so heres my prediction:

UF - 750 yards
UT - 75 yards

UF - 77 points
UT - 3 points

is this how im supposed to support the team?

There's also an issue that no one wants to talk about, and that is the sales job done on this lower-income high school athletes while they are being recruited. They are being lured with the idea that if they go to this school or that university, the right decision will lead them to the riches of the NFL and they will be set for life.

Sure, most of us understand the value of a college education and the fact the odds are so steeply stacked against being one of the lucky ones to make it to the NFL. But, imagine for a moment what these kids are being told or led to believe when they are 17 & 18 years old. While we think this is so cut and dried, we are looking at it from our perspectives without walking in their shoes for even a moment.

Billions of $ are generated by college football and basketball, billions are paid to conferences like the SEC to televise their games, entire television networks are being created to promote college sports, but we want to get on our high horses because kids like Arian Foster got a big bag of tacos.

Does this sound at all reasonable, much less equitable? I'm not sure where I stand on paying these kids as illegal payments will still continue, but I think all of us can agree the current system is exploitative and unfair...at least from the perspective of the kids who are putting on the uniforms to entertain us.

Haha. It should be a good crowd. For their sake I hope it is. As a lower Division school, they should be ecstatic Gameday is going to be there.
