I guess you've never seen a Georgia Tech game. The HC was one of the original spread option guys. And yes they use a lot of run n shoot principles in the passing game.

I wasn't even talking principles in regard to GT. Was talking about a school that doesn't throw it all over the place consistently putting good pros in the league at WR.

He was taller, that was about it. As far as natural talent Rice had better instincts, hands, route running skills and football acumen. Moss is hands down the best deep threat the game has ever seen though.

None is the qualities you mentioned for Rice fall under "natural talent". Speed, strength, agility, and leaping ability is "natural talent", which Moss had more of.

He wasn't more agile than Rice. He had more speed but think about this, when was Rice ever caught from behind after breaking away. Strength wise I think Jerry was stronger too. You guys really act as if Rice just got by on hard work. His footwork was some of the best I've ever seen at any position.

I was giving examples of natural talent, Rice was more agile than Moss, idk about strength but I grew up watching Moss so Rice was a little before my time.

Man I'm 28 so I watched both(and watched Rice's old stuff). Moss wasn't strong. But his speed made people not press him. Rice routinely defeated the press and was much stronger after the catch. There's a reason he's the GOAT.

I'm not disputing that he was the GOAT, he was. I've never looked very in depth at Rice when he was in his prime, just seen cut up highlights. Moss never struck me as a very strong guy, but I figured that as gifted and dominant as he was, he couldn't have been very weak either. Moss' first couple of seasons at Minn were when I was finally mature enough to sit down and enjoy a full football game. I remember Rice more clearly wearing an Oakland jersey rather than SF.

Oh not good my friend but back to Malone before they come whining. :)

I've seen the entirety of both of their careers and don't know a person on this earth who has seen both who would choose moss over Rice for any wr trait.

You may not like Moss but his leaping ability and raw speed are unmatched to an extent. Jerry was a deep threat but Moss could outrun double coverage(crazy).

I like moss fine. If you had a draft and those two were available I'd be ecstatic if you chose moss.

My 2 cents:

I've seen 35 years of NFL receivers come and go. When Randy Moss was motivated and inspired to play at his highest level, there wasn't another receiver like him. He could run faster, jump higher, out muscle, and out maneuver every DB he faced. Don't believe me? Look at his stats for top his 5-6 years. Watch videos of him on YouTube. He was a freak in every sense of the word.

That being said, if I were building a team from scratch, I want Jerry Rice -- not Randy Moss. He showed up for work every day and worked his ass off. He was smart, fast (enough), and driven to be the greatest receiver ever. That's something Moss never had.

...and Moss was a cancer for every team he played with.
