It makes a lot of sense, when you think about it. Naturally, being as involved in the Recruiting Forum as we are, we are inclined towards the future. We are optimists. Meanwhile, in the Football Forum, they're immediately concerned with the present and the immediate past (which has not been pleasant obviously). Such concerns naturally suit the more pessimistic.

This really is right. Just been dying to use that picture

For those wanting Mike Keith as the play by play announcer, it would cost UT several times more for his services than we currently pay Kesling. Keith is making some large coin as the Director of Broadcasting for the Tennessee Titans.

Now, I would love to see Pat Ryan take over as the color analyst for UT football. He is a lot better than Tim Priest.

According to the participation report the 2nd team OL Mac Crowder(C) and M Jackson (G) did not play. Does anyone know of why? I haven't heard of reports of injury with those two

That's true I suppose. Well said.

He isn't listed, but Crowder was working with the 2nd team offense at center.

The 2nd team OL was Pair/Posey/Crowder/Simcox/Kerbyson.

As for why Jackson didn't play, I'm not sure. That surprised me too.

Good post. Add in that many act like they are going through puberty.

On Marcus Jackson...

There has been some speculation that he might look to redshirt and give himself two full years as a starter. Nothing final on that obviously with so many games left, and one injury up front probably ends it, but him not playing last night definitely suggests the staff is going to give it a shot.

"I think there's a good chance Vereen is back for Florida. As for Maggitt we will see. I think he will play some, but it's going to be interesting to see how they play defensively if they are playing a bunch of nickel.

Jayson Swain made a great point on TV this morning in recalling how much Petrino exploited AJ Johnson and Maggitt in pass coverage when they were freshmen. I will be curious to see how they defend the Hilltoppers."

Petrino will bring a good game plan, but they'll be too overmatched in the trenches to be able to stay with us. It will make me nervous if it's close at halftime though. You let a smaller school stick around for too long then they really start to believe they can win. With a coach like Petrino thats dangerous.

Interesting on Jackson.

Kinda cool Jones had that conversation with him probably to see what he wanted to do.

Why play 70 plays all year when you can possibly have 2 full years.

Now a major injury quickly changes that.

Butch knows all to well what it's like to take a smaller school on the road vs the big boys. He'll have this team ready to play like an SEC team is coming to Neyland.

If someone gets hurt in a conference game, and the score is manageable, do you want The guys behind Jackson playing? It's tough, and as 2013 said, we are in a tough spot with O-line depth and future starters.

I come away from the weekend thinking the WKU game will possibly be a little harder than I thought (I expected Kentucky to beat them). But I still would be very surprised if we lost.

Our defense isn't perfect, but it's much improved. I doubt we give up 450+ yards to them. Plus, I got a sense our OL is ready to take over games when they need to. Kentucky ran the ball well on WKU (216 yards). I think we may put up 300 yards on the ground again and control the clock when needed.

I think we win by 2 TDs or more by the time it's over.

What happens to Richt if Georgia finishes third or fourth in the east this year?

With their defense and OLine issues I think it could happen.
