Big10 59
Pac12 49
ACC 47
Big12 32

2014 so far

SEC 89

Coincidence?

Rivals being based out of Atlanta is a factor, but there is no denying the SEC gets more talent every year than the other conferences.

Prediction for Rivals250:

- Booth and Wharton drop out;
- Helm moves up to the 110 to 120 range and #1 TE; - Henderson enters in the 230 to 240 range;
- Barnett enters in the 230 to 240 range; and
- Gaulden, McDowell, Mouhon and Payne stay relatively the same.

Bump to 5.9 too? Or still 5.8?

Encouraging that Tom Smith is possibly emerging as a viable 3rd option. It takes some guys longer than others. Hopefully he's maturing and its starting to click.

You may be right about things just starting to click for Tom Smith but I can't help but wonder if him and Sapp were just in Dooley's doghouse for whatever reason. Iirc, Sapp had a decent game against NCst and then it seemed like I didnt hear much about him the rest of the year. Smith hasn't made hardly any noise since he's been here until under the new staff. Now Sapp is starting and Smith is being mentioned as the 3rd rb. Maybe it has just taken this long for things to start clicking for them like you said or maybe they were held back by the previous regime. Just a thought.

Maybe but ESPN shows the same thing for 2013.

4 stars or higher (ESPN)

SEC 182
Big10 78
ACC 73
Pac12 70
Big12 51

Of the ESPN 300

SEC 113
Big10 47
ACC 40
Pac12 40
Big12 24

In regards to Smith I thought he was hurt a good portion of last year. I know he got folded like a pretzel in one game. I always assumed that's why we didn't hear more abou him.

Between 4-6

I think our best case is higher than 6

but if we dont get a QB to step up then we could go pretty low year 1

however if you ask me to name the number i would say 1 of the 3 Freshman qb's step up and we win 7 games - the 3 ooc, ky,vandy, MO, auburn

nothing from 5-7 wins would surprise me - lower would and higher would (excluding bowl game)

The ceiling is 7 and that is a stretch...and like you said, if a QB steps up and has a good year.

If that doesn't happen it could easily be 4-5 wins. ..

Vandy is not going to be good this year. Wish you people would understand that.

It is possible we may not be good either. But we will beat vandy. Goodness people. Bring back your UT Football pride

We start 3-5 and winning 4 straight will be tough.

After reading the last 20 pages of this thread and all the QB stuff, I had a few thoughts that I would like your collective opinions on.
First, how do you think it would play out if Worley starts No1, and doesn't do anything great, but doesn't do anything really bad either, just an average performance for the first two games and then we lose to O by 15-20. Does he keep job going into FL?
And then suppose at some point CBJ decides to start Ferguson (or Dobbs, it doesn't really matter), I could see a scenario where all three of the others transfer.
Also it seems Peterman isn't getting a lot of love either. I would think with his mobility he would be a better long term proposition than Worley, we could use one of the two Fr as 2nd and redshirt the other one. That way it seems we would only end up losing Worley.
