The only reason I guessed peterman was the smoke surrounding him getting the 1st team reps yesterday. Other than that all signs point to JW.

Were those rumors ever confirmed?

Unless someone emerges I think we will see a back
And forth on the QB situation. We are simply not good at the position right now. Worley is not the guy but going to get his chance to start the season .

Peterman hasn't seperated himself from Worley since he's been there. My money is ultimately on one of the freshman.

I'd be surprised if anyone started not named Worley. He may not be the best QB, but he's the best with game time experience. History shows CBJ won't hesitate to make a change if JW can't handle the job, which may come after the Oregon game.

This would be my experience in Chattanooga as well.

If you do something stupid like threaten to defile a member of the issuing officer's family you might get some time out of spite, but the jails in metro areas are bursting with crazies, dangerous people, suspected felons awaiting a disposition on their case, and repeat violent misdemeanor offenders along with a few others.

I don't know that I ever actually saw a DUA in Chatt. Always assumed it was a revenue generator for Knoxville.

A rural county where the jail isn't bursting at the seems might be different.

I would guess Worley will start and end the season as the starting QB unless he has an injury. When the Neyland Stadium crowd starts to roar Aug 31st, he will look like a star. I expect no less than 9 guys to catch a pass. Ferguson will come in late in the 3rd Qtr and look good as well. QB will be fine this year for the Vols. When it's time to shine, they will.

Agree. It's Worley's but based on no real coach or player feedback he's walking the tightrope into the first couple games.

I see Worley as the starter going into OR and OR game being where a change occurs if one will. For example we fall behind and a more mobile guy goes in and has moderately better success he'll make a switch. Say what you want about Jones tailoring the offense to a pro-style a mobile QB would make us more dynamic and he does know how to use one. I liken it to SF 49ers. They were ok and winning games but still made the switch.

I don't think we are setup for that unfortunately. Worley is good enough to get the nod but by game 3-4 we may have better options with development and by nature of guys being more mobile and allowing Butch more wrinkles in the offense which I believe we will need due to inconsistent WR play. I don't think we will have a carousel but I expect we will see 2 play this season. My guess is Peterman will take over before the year is out. If the talk of Ferguson having the IT factor is true and he continues to progress it might be him. I see Worley as our Simms though. I think Butch will handle it better than Dooley did and will give someone the nod earlier though which would be fairer than trotting out a guy for all the hardest games only to pull him for the easy ones. My biggest reason for not thinking Worley will be our guy this year is he's never ever ever mentioned as a leader. That can't happen in a Butch Jones offense. He talks about leadership and Alpha Males etc a lot and time and again never mentions Worley. IMO add that to Butch liking a Mobile guy and I see him wishing one of the other guys were a little more up to speed.

I think Mt. McCullers gets the starting nod at QB. Just give him the ball and it would take at least 5 or 6 defenders to bring him down.

I agree with this. Pick the best freshman and role with it, although its not what is going to happen. Worley will have every opportunity he needs to show that he can't get it done and then he will be yanked.
