Sure about that?

Tennessee law treats underage drinking very seriously, classifying it as a Class A misdemeanor, the highest of all possible classifications. Those convicted of drinking under the age of 21 face jail time up to a maximum of 11 months and 29 days in addition to other penalties.

24 hours of community service and $400ish in court costs for me. I met some nice people at goodwill though

In relevant news...tomorrow will be the last Monday for 4-5 months that you have to wake up and go to work and not have a week's worth of college football to look forward to! GO VOLS!

I got a ticket in Cali about twenty years ago for having half a hooter in my possession. I think I paid a twenty five dollar fine. In TN I would have gone to jail.

And the second to last Monday vandy will be undefeated for this season. Go Black Bears.

I got an underage a few months back and just had to spend the night in jail. That's normal when it is your first offense

We had two kids get convicted of underage consumption in my town two years ago. They were 15 and 16, it was about their 5th or 6th time getting caught with drinking or drugs or something similar, and they destroy a mobile home by wrecking into it they were so drunk.

Never spent a day in jail. But they're parents are a lot poorer.

nb4 we segway into an argument about whether or not weed should be legal

I agree with this. You don't tell a kid he can't do something that he might've been waiting years to do. Football is a privilege, yes, but so is drinking, driving, voting, and going to college period. No coach should have the right to take any of that away. Limit it? Sure. But not take it out completely.

drinking is legal at age 21 I know I know it's college and some will drink BUT they don't have to do it at a bar where some will be there just trying to get them in trouble

good rule you can party and not go to a stupid bar where stupid people sometimes hang out and are drunk

No rules IMO

The guys on VQ continue to hype up McNeill. Said he's playing faster and isn't afraid to take on blockers and mix it up in the run game.

Also, Rob Lewis said he believes McNeill is a guy who could be an All Conference guy at some point in his career.

He and Randolph will be the sleeping giants on our D this year.

What's awesome is we could have 3 more years of both being here, along with Kelly and Mcdowell for the last 2.

Just moved into UT and was at a welcome week event tonight in which CBJ and some players were attending for us. Both Worley and Peterman were there. Even though Jac. Smith has a broken thumb, he was the most pumped up out of all the players. CBJ seems very determined to unite everyone on campus to become "One Tennessee". Said he wants to be back to being the top, all-time winningest program at home. Just FWIW.

Congrats on being at UT! Really excited for you. I think I've said all this to you before but it bears repeating:

I met like 8 of my current best friends during my freshman year, like 9 years ago.

Also, do not underestimate the fantasticalness of having two dorms full of girls in such close proximity.

Having just spent the summer interning with a TN district attorney's office I assure you there's no one going to jail for that. Typically it's 60 or so hours of community service, drug and alcohol assessment, and if the prosecutor is particularly aggressive suspension of driver's license for a year. (And diversion to keep it off the crim record). Unless you consider time spent in a holding cell to be jail almost no jail time is served for the vast majority of misdemeanors.

Carry on, go Vols.
