In the Orange and White Game and last night's practice, presumed #Vol starting QB Justin Worley was 13-36 (36% completion rate).

I think this might be why the fans are not thrilled with Worley.

A lot of bars are 18 and up. That violates this rule. Far from grown men

If you're so weak minded that you can't avoid a bar for four months, you need a good punishment to toughen you up. Blows my mind that you think that's impossible for 18 year olds.

Peterman though that a lot seem to want is not much better at 41%

If they are drinking in a bar, they should be 21 years old. That makes them a grown man in my book. If they are drinking in a bar and under 21, they have alot more issues than a coach catching them IMO. Locked up is alot worse than a suspension.

No one is going to prison for underage consumption..

And going to one on occasion doesn't prove anything about any 18-22 year old kids dedication to winning a championship. Just curious when is the last time you have been closely associated with a Division 1 athlete if ever??

Tyler Bray was 14-26 in last year's O&W game in an offense he had been in for 3 years with veteran WR's and against the worst defense in UT history. Preseason stats aren't everything. I'll ride with whomever Butch and Co. decide on.

People are making a mistake pulling the TB comparison here.

TB has a NFL arm and a secured spot as starter at UT. Worley has neither.

I have to agree with Bruin (never thought that'd happen). Butch is just setting himself up for disappointment with the no bars rule.

Practices and scrimmages are a time to try the more unfamiliar aspects of offense. Y'all are reading too much into it. If the offense is this horrible during the Austin Peay game, then start to freak out.

Sure about that?

Tennessee law treats underage drinking very seriously, classifying it as a Class A misdemeanor, the highest of all possible classifications. Those convicted of drinking under the age of 21 face jail time up to a maximum of 11 months and 29 days in addition to other penalties.

Lol, they might be technically allowed to dole out those types of punishments. However, nobody will actually end up facing prison time for underage consumption.

Following rules, however arbitrary, means you put winning and the team ahead of your wants. Since knowing D1 athletes has nothing to do with anything, I won't continue that point.

Nobody's getting 11-29 in jail for over age consumption. I don't care what the law says.

I guess each person has to decide for themselves if they want to risk being the one made an example of. If your looking for problems, you will usually find them.

I would imagine there are alot of people sitting in jail right now for underage drinking. The time they have to spend there varies I am sure. Thinking you can't go to jail for it is just not accurate at all.

First off, I meant under age consumption...rather than overage, lol. People initially get arrested and make bond. They'll often get 11-29 probation. But to sit here and say they are regularly handing out a year in jail for 1st offense underage consumption....I can't see it, sorry.

I am 110% sure

Lol. If the penalty is a few extra study hall hours or extra running I got no issue with the rule. If it is missed playing time like many on here have advocated, that only encourages coaches to look the other way in enforcing. I know one thing, I will be furious if any key player decides to hit the bar scene on our off weekend and is suspended.

It has everything to do with this. So it's safe to assume your knowledge of a D1 lockerroom is very limited since you didn't want to answer the question.

Yep, you got it man, you win. Congrats. I'm not going to stoop to trying to win ecred with you, especially when it has literally nothing to do with the discussion. ANY 18 year old should be mentally tough enough and care about his teamenough to follow a rule that's very easy to follow , regardless of how arbitrary.

The 1 year number was a "maximum". I'm sure there are alot of varying sentences from days to months depending on the case itself. Can you be locked up for underage drinking? Yes, you can. That is all I was saying.
