Losing Gray, Naz, Bonner, Gordon and now Jones has REALLY hurt this team.

That could end up costing us a few games.

Riley is going to start IMO. I have no facts, but from what I've seen/heard he is a true leader and has a cannon, as well as good athleticism. I'm against everyone else really in saying I hope he starts the first against Peay, he needs the experience.

The JRM move to Lb isn't about the recruiting class. Its about getting best football players on the field. the rest of those backers are ehhhhhhhh at best

Vincent Dallas has always been A DB to me. Going back to his original recruiting thread.
Leave him there please.

Ehhh. Our rotation isn't too bad assuming we don't have anymore injuries lol

LCB: Coleman/Foreman/Williams/Orta
RCB: Sutton/Foreman/Williams/Orta
Nickel: Toney/Swafford/Orta

Wow talk about a big blow.

Sad face.

Dallas moving is really surprising. He was working with the first team on Saturday morning.

WR is one position where depth is not a real concern though, and he's still a junior. Definitely can't say the same about the depth at CB.

On Jones, losing key guys to season ending injuries is almost inevitable. Happens every year. Depth concerns are a big part of the reason I think this is a 6-6 team.

JRM to LB is awesome. Great move for him and the team, long term.

The good news is that speed won't be the issue at corner. Now, experience is another story but at least the new guys are fast.

Speaking of Williams, Callahan just said our staff likes him

The difference is Dallas is older and hopefully "knows how WRs think" so to speak, but Williams is speedy and even though he's a walk-on he was originally going on scholly to Maryland (football) before coming to run tract for UT.

I wouldn't say depth, I would say top end guys. I see a lot of decent guys, but North is the only game changer to me assuming he's ready to go early as a Frosh

This is how I feel.

9 guys, maybe isn't great for the 4 year health of the program, but it is plenty for a single season. Especially when they all seem to be on a fairly even playing field.

Lack of experience is the thing I'm most concerned about with WRs. Moving the only player with real experience doesn't help, but looking at the CB position it seems warranted if he can contribute there.

Don't know how Jones' injury can be conceived as anything but bad news. Sure, the Corners have speed, compared to last year, but that won't mean a thing if they're taking poor angles and missing assignments.

Dallas to CB doesn't instill a lot of confidence either...if you're a junior, you should be nailing down a starting position in your respective position, not being moved to the opposite side of the ball where you'll be buried on the depth chart behind an incoming freshman.

Not good news on all fronts...

Doesn't hurt that his brother is an NFL DB too. I think he'll help us down the road, if not sooner now.

On the first, I don't think anyone is saying otherwise.

On the second, it doesn't instill confidence, but with him buried on the WR depth chart, why not move him to a position he is needed for depth and will receive a handful of snaps instead of afew snaps a game where he's not needed?

Funny how you guys trusted Waggner and Teague more than these new guys. For what reason I have no idea. I personally am very excited to see Sutton. Hate to hear the Jobes news but what did we lose outside of run support with Gordon?
