'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

His quotes yesterday about his mother and grandmother weighing in heavily on his decision made me feel like there's a good chance it's us. If it was JUST him making it I think he likes us but he grew up wanting to
Be a gator so that would probably win out. If it was just him deciding.

Hate to be that guy, but I haven't followed his recruiting. Has his family said anything positive about UT?

Looks like a 50/50 battle between Butch and Muschamp. I like that matchup.

I've seen this posted a number of times. I understand the sentiment given CBJ's great start (and the fact that I'm on a UT board)....but Muschamp's not exactly a slouch recruiter especially for defensive recruits. Certainly, UF to an extent recruits itself and gives Muschamp an easier go of things than most coaches have. However, people forget that Muschamp recruited well before his time at UF (Texas, LSU, Auburn). So, all in all, I think you guys have every right to be confident that CBJ can win the battle.......but it's not likely he's going head to head with Dooley here :).

cool story

Is August 13th still his planned commitment date or has that changed. VN might have to be very drunk to get through the next two weeks.

The most obvious selling point working in our favor is playing time. Our entire starting line graduates after this season, so Lambert would have an extremely good chance to start at UT. But, you just never know with JUCO players.

I've always gotten a UF vibe with Lambert, and I didn't realize for a while that we were still recruiting Lambert that hard.

But Muschamp is a doucher

Can't say I disagree.

And Muschamp's not going against Dooley either. I think UF and the rest of the SEC are learning the game has changed now that they're dealing with a highly likeable and successful guy in CBJ who is selling a university with facilities and tradition as good as almost anyone in the conference.

I'm not worried about these UF/UT battles at the moment. This one could go either way, but I don't feel like these battles are as lop-sided in favor of UF as they would have been a year ago.

I like the position we have put ourselves in with Lambert. And I think Ole Miss and Fl is the odd teams out in this race. Just from what I am hearing.

Good post. As much as I dislike Muschamp, I'll give credit where due. The man can recruit. As was posted earlier though.....he isn't going against Dooley anymore. Should make for some very interesting recruiting battles over the next few years.

So you feel Lambert, Barnett, Mosley, Hendrix, and the Twins are in the boat?

Give me Chris Williams to finish out the class and we are good to go.

Any head coach at UF that has a hard time recruiting should be fired. There is no excuse, really.

This. It is incredibly easy to recruit there. It's right up there with the Texas and Notre Dame's. Any coach should be able to recruit Top classes to those schools. Muschamp might be a solid recruiter but he's been at some of the easiest places in the country to recruit to. UF, Texas, LSU, etc..

I didn't mean it as a dig at Muschamp. Obviously, he knows how to recruit. However, I like Butch's odds going head-to-head with Muschamp on a JUCO kid that wants early PT and isn't a Florida native.
