*Facepalm* at these last two pages.

OH reports what DB says to him.

Zero issues there.

People then attack OH.

Volnation melts down.

People say he is about to commit.

Volnation Booms.

The Reality....

DB likely told OH this. He may or may not have been being serious, he is a 17 year old kid.

Regardless of what DB told OH has no impact on his recruitment and one statement to someone he doesnt know is not binding in any way.

DB is gonna continue on his recruitment just like DB planned to before said encounter with OH.

Take each piece of information for what it is and just let it play out.

This is recruiting, let there be hills and valleys, but not Mountains and Canyons like Volnation likes to go with.

If barnett would have told the creepy question guy: "gtfoh" (like a lot of us would have as an 18 yr old to a creepy guy), that dude would have come back here and said "he's a prick"

Im amazed at some of you all. When I bring good news I get liked.. if its against the grain then Im a creepy old guy? Maybe my friend just moved back from Colorado and is finishing up his last year.. happens to live in Crowne. I am a little creepy tho.. :).

I do find it amusing that everyone seems to think that Butch will cater to any 4* and 5* player that wants to decide to be a Vol after the class is filled up. So, we get 30 players, and then Jackson, Prince, Carter, Barnett, Garrett all want to be Vols? Yeah, I'm sure we'll figure out a way to take them all.

If you don't get Barnett, you better have a damn good DT to go in his place. I don't know any 4-5* DTs who are closer to committing to us. So I'm gonna wait and see what Barnett does.

I expect that the recruiting focus will be intensified on the DL going forward.

If that means holding out for months (or until NSD) and waiting for recruits like DB to fill 3 or four spaces on the DL, so be it.

Everything being said, I do think Butch and Co. will get a couple DTs before we fill up; I'm saying, if Barnett isn't one of those, then he'll be left outside looking in.

I have to laugh at that sometimes as well. I think it comes down to who commits 1st. Maybe the staff has a pecking order and maybe not. Of the DTs on our board, I would be taking the 1st 3-4 to commit no matter who they are. I would make sure the DT recruits knew that as well. You can choose to sit back and wait, but I am filling this class up now.

Hendrix has a spot until the 3-4 DTs commit. Then he either makes a move or I might fill his spot as well. same goes for the Berrys.

I don't understand this thinking. You guys need to step back and listen to yourselves. WE GOT OURSELVES all worked up thinking the Berrys and Barnett were committing this weekend. Now there getting left out? Some of the guys you named, I wouldn't take them over Barnett.

He clearly stated he wanted to announce in August. So yes we have no choice but to....sit and wait. August isn't far away. To fill his spot with a lesser player because they were ready to jump on board IMO would be foolish. Again, perhaps there's a group of DTs on another level who are close to jumping on board I'm not aware of. If not, yeah I'm gonna wait and see what Barnett does.

I think it is somewhere in the middle of your argument and the other. At some point, if several are rated close to the same on your board, then you take the ones that will commit. August is fine, but you can't wait until January on someone now. Life is about leverage, and CBJ has all of the leverage right now because spots are filling up. It isn't that difficult. I also think this staff will work its current commits and a few others until February, but they will use the other time to recruit 2015 ahead of others. Makes great sense.

Some need to chill out. There is no "spot" for linemen. If we have 30 commits and 4 linemen decide to commit also, then we will have 34 commits. No way we will not sign 4 * linemen even in January!!
