I never in a million years would have thought they would make it this far. They have played over there heads the last few days. Honestly, they should still be playing but that umpire (who BTW, we found out was a drunk and has had several complaints filed against him) took a win from the boys in the winners bracket game yesterday. Bad deal, but they will move on and learn from it hopefully.

It made for a good story then. My niece is on a travel softball team and my brother in law has told me some stories of play calls and tempers running high. It can become intense in that world.

I am a laid back guy for the most part. The umpire mouthed off after he raped our team in the 6th inning and our head coach took exception to it. I walked over and tried to calm him down and the field umpire grabbed me by the back of the neck. I advised him to take his hands off of me or I would politely snatch the life out of him as the nice young sherriffs deputy walked up. He asked me if I would mind taking a walk with him to calm down a bit. I told him I didnt need to calm down because I wasnt upset. He told me to take a walk anyway. No biggy.
