'14 SC DT Poona Ford

The Hilton Head, S.C., native is a defensive lineman that has been linked to the Vols for some time now, but even when it has seemed like Tennessee was the leader for Ford, nothing has yet to matriculate in terms of a verbal commitment. And the longer things go with Ford, the better that is for the home-state Gamecocks. Louisville has jumped in the race recently as well for Ford as it's somewhat of a three team race right now. One concern is Ford's height as he's measured in short of 6-feet several times and that causes concerns for a few teams and likely Tennessee.

Jones had a 5'8" NT at CMU and UC (same guy). Notre Dame has a 5'11" NT. If you can play, they don’t care how tall you are. And there’s also a specific advantage for that position for shorter guys.

Doubt Poona would play NT for us though. He's a DT.

The disadvantage comes when pass rushing. But I'd still take this guy.

Last he told me is that it will be between UL and UT.

I just don't understand why he is so adamant it won't be SC when literally everywhere else says it will be a TN-SC battle.

The good thing is that their is only one thing they all agree on...UT is in it!
