I think my wife is responsible for most of it. Well, maybe not the athletic part. I was an all state tight end in high school but had a bad wreck when I was 17 and almost lost my left leg. That pretty much ended my football career.

I dont know about that Doyle, neither one of my girls have an athletic bone in their body. Got lucky on the boy, I guess.

Is he the youngest?
Gotta be honest, my first two boys are not good athletes. Strong, but uncoordinated and just don't get it. I grew up in the parks and fields, so I was like, come on, 2 boys and they don't play ball. That was the young dad in me.

But my little one is hilarious. I wish my wife would've filmed his td run yesterday. I think it couldve made it on espn for cuteness alone and he made each kid miss at least once. He's not the best one out there, but its fun to watch a son play above average after 2 that just weren't ball players.
And the oldest found jiujitsu and it fits them well. Very thankful for that sport.

yup, he is the youngest. Always been a natural at baseball. Quick hands, good form, always had good power. As far as football, he didnt get my football gene, or he hasnt shown it yet. He has really grown in the last year so next year might be the year. He loves everything about baseball again. We played traveling ball for several years and he was on the verge of getting burned out so we stepped back and only play league ball now. Works out better for everyone.

another thing that I do with Leighton. I never push him or critique him on a performance. It is what it is. If he has a bad game, I offer some suggestions on what he did wrong, but never get on his ass for a poor performance. Only time I ever get on him is if I think he played terrible because he was being lazy. I hate to see parents who try to live their athletic lives through their kids. Most parents werent worth a **** at sports anyway and want their kids to be the best. I am proud of my kid if he strikes out every time he goes to the plate. You cant win em all.
