Qbs are inexperienced, RBs are average at best(I like Kentucky's runners better), and WRs are well mehhh....... I don't know what to say at this point. Hope Brendan Downs stays healthy. He could be a focal point and security blanket for a young offense.

I think Worley will end up having a pretty good year in this offense if UT can get any production from the RB's.... it's truly frustrating to have the potential without the product at RB...

I don't trust these backs at all. Neal hasn't attacked the line since his freshman year. He looks like all he wants is 10 yards or is looking for a perfect untouched run. Or he runs hard around the red zone because it's "Touchdown Time". Lane seems more interested in celebrating than making plays.

With everything that I've heard about Dobbs, and Ferguson really, I won't be surprised if they make a push for starter. Heard that Dobbs is an unbelievably quick learner. A lot like that kid out at Oregon. From everything I've heard he will have the playbook down after the first week. Or he will be upset with himself that he doesn't, and will get it very quickly either way.

I'm excited about our talent at QB, and the future position battle there. Too bad all those guys can't play. I feel like Worley, Peterman, Dobbs, and Ferguson all have the capabilities and potential to be quality, above-average to possibly great QBs in this league.

We have so much talent on this team if guys can play to their potential. Play discipline, execute schemes. We can easily exceed most of the media's expectations. Which seems to be 6 wins.

Love your enthusiasm, but I think 6 wins will be a quality season for these guys. I'm not a Negavol and I really like Butch Jones and many of the players on this team, but I can't willfully ignore what we are consistently hearing from the practice field and from Butch himself (his quote last week that we all know this is a team with a small margin for error).

I know I may get in trouble for putting this here, but did you guys see the news about Romo retiring and Cam being traded. Trying to figure out how I missed that news. Did it just happen today? yesterday?

I'm with you here in that 6 wins will be a good job for next year. We are still 3 years away from being really good and that is dependent on having quality recruiting classes every year. The SEC is just a beast. In any other conference last years team would have won 9 games even with our defensive liabilities.

I think that's a big part of it. I think some folks look at our (assumed) starting 11 on offense and defense and declare we have a lot of talent, since many of those guys were highly rated prep players. But you can't stop there. We don't have as many high talent players backing them up as do the other big time programs in conference right now. (Leaving aside that their starters on average may be better than ours).

I can just about guarantee that of the folks we think will be starters right now, by game 3 we will have lost a good handful to some combination of discipline issues or injury. We just don't have the talent behind them to hang with the other big programs through a 12 game season IMO. But we will see.

Awesome

@patrickbrownTFP: Butch apparently went out & found the sound of a wild pig squealing and making a ruckus...just to blare while Pig Howard caught punts today.
