Yesterday someone asked if Jovon Robinson could end up a Vol...

Sounds like the staff is still looking to add a RB that can play this fall. Fingers crossed Dyer ends up in Orange and if not him, someone else. We're going to need help at RB this fall.

Big fan of Robinson, he would be a great addition if he has everything in order. He is the bruiser back we need right now.

That's very interesting. Didn't see this discussed anywhere in yesterday's practice updates.

I love this idea - one of my old soccer coaches used to do something similar to this - if you made a dumb mental error or didnt hustle back on defense he would sit you in the middle of the field and make you take a rest - he then would make you watch the rest of the team bust it in sprints - he would say since you are tired take your rest and let your team make up for you (in more broken english)

it was very disturbing and definitely produced the intended effect

Ya'll...story after story after story that confirm this staff really has the vision to make men out these guys!

Please NO. I was running through this in my mind before I found out all of the things he actually did. Do not want or need this cancer at UT. We have to have some standards. I understand people make mistakes and deserve second chances but this guy doesn't need a second chance from a school as good as TN.

Don't strike me as the same type guy or body type. Welkers 3 inches shorter, 15 lbs heavier, much more compact. More quick in small spaces whereas Zach is more a straight line speed guy. Jmo.

Thought they were more of the same size, but either way they both have been timed in 4.5 range, and both have been used very effectively in short passing situations, on those timing curl, slant, and out routes.

Just could see him used that way with a Brady, Manning, or Rodgers type QB or a team that runs that same sort of offense where they like to work the short passing game.

Rogers is not going to be a one on one deep threat in the NFL, but I think he can make it as a Wes Welker type player. Definitely the most consistent WR on the team his SR year.

i think Rogers could absolutely be a 1 on 1 deep threat in the NFL - i am not saying on the outside against top flight corners - but he would likely be working the slot - i would definitely send him up that seam from time to time - his speed against the nickel corner and/or safety would be a weapon - as the previous poster said a lot of slot guys are more quick than fast so that is a real weapon he possesses

im not sold on his quickness, strength, or hands at the NFL level - he showed dramatic improvement last year - which is why he will be a late round pick if drafted

but i think he has a very good chance to make a team and in the right fit could really be a weapon

They're both white...that's something. :)

Its not like the comparison is far off from what type of player people think Rogers will be? Thats where his potential lies in the NFL, imo. That sure handed receiver, that his QB will always know where he will be, and what spots to throw to on the field for him.

Hell maybe he'll surprise everyone, throw on so more weight, and actually become a Jordy Nelson type of down field threat. But Jordy Nelson is nothing without A Rodgers. Those two have obviously thrown thousands of balls to each other, with how Rodgers and him can hook up on those outside shoulder, and back shoulder passes (really unguardable passes), it makes Nelson a deep threat.

I don't see ZRo having enough physicality to be ever become a real down the field threat in the NFL unless he has a QB that can do the same with him. But still he doesn't have enough weight and physical stature to him, imo.

Yeah Rogers on some seam routes could definitely get some good matchups, but I just don't see him being sent deep a lot. We'll see. He did have one of his best games against Georgia running some seam routes and flag routes from the slot. And UGA has some good Safeties.

When it comes down to it though, Rogers isn't making it in the NFL unless he has a solid QB he can always be on the same page with. He's not a playmaker, especially at the NFL level, but he can be a chain mover. Just my opinion though. :hi:

Apparently James Franklin threw a tantrum when asked about the pre-Hurd tweet. I didn't hear it, but I will link audio when they post it.
