Jay Graham has left Tennessee to go to FSU

Meltdown is epic. LOL

It sucks a former player left our staff, but we are Tennessee. We move forward with or with out ya.

loved JG and what he meant to this university. However, if you were to take the fact of his playing at UT out of the equation, you wouldn't see a "rock star" coach. I understand that bouncing up the coaching ladder is a universal practice. However, he coached at UT Chatt for 1 year, UT Martin for 1 year, Miami (Oh) for 1 year. Then he landed at SC, got Lattimore after year 1 and stayed 2 more. Then he left there for UT, and stayed there for 1 year. We'll see how he does at FSU. They have the recruiting base, and tools to be successful.

Wishing him luck. At least he went to FSU. Imagine the meltdown had it been UF.
Jay was this best recruiter we had on this cincy staff! He we the lowest paid coach and the players loved him. Huge loss for UT today ,if Jones hires some half ass coach from cincy look for a huge failure in recruiting again next season.

You need to be calling up your inside sources to get us the scoop on this Rb coaching search Nick.

Stripling and Bajakian seem like 1st class coaches. I like Azzani too. At the Big Orange Caravan stop in Knoxville you could see Thigpen and Martinez are adjusting to working with CBJ though there still seem to be some rough edges. I just hope Jones doesn't need to overshadow and micro-manage his assistants. Big personalities are needed for recruiting. Could spell trouble moving ahead.

Please note I said "coach." Surely you saw what he did with our RBs last year. Turned a dismal, unproductive group in 2011 into a relatively effective ground attack last year.

I honestly don't know how you can stand by this as a good thing for our program. Especially considering the unknowns that the rest of our staff brings. You're usually one of the reasonable ones too...

Uh, we didn't even have a rb coach before JG.. So I think we will be fine.

He was one of the best, not sure I would say the best. Thigpen has an argument for that title as well.

All of you calling out this staff without seeing them coach one practice. SMH. You guys only look at the negatives to bash. I hope you all scatter when we start winning again.

Admittedly I'm shocked. But, could it just be that Coach Graham was given more money and more responsibility and potentially better career opportunity that he couldn't turn down as he does the best he can to provide for his family? Could it be that Coach Jones did nothing wrong? Could it be that Coach Graham still loves his alma mater? Could it be that Coach Jones hires an even better coach and recruiter? Hate to see Coach Graham go but I don't hate or blame either guy. Let this play out before we start lashing out.

As some have alluded to in previous posts if you take Graham being a former UT player (and a really good one at that) out of the equation then the loss is not as great and a comparable RB coach and recruiter can most likely be found.

With that said, this should be even more evidence to fans that coaches are VERY RARELY ever as currently invested in a program as fans are, this is a business to them. I know Graham invested a lot at UT as a player, but as a coach I would imagine that makes little difference because of the business side.

Therefore, back off the metaphorical ledge (or just do us all a favor and go ahead and jump) and move on with life and the UT program.

Go Vols...I'll hang up and listen.

Gruden 2013. We should just disband the program till we get Gruden. I mean it would make Volnation happy. We hire a coach that was winning at a high level in his conference and he is a crappy second tier coach to you people.

yeah it wasnt our OL at all

going by proof of who signed what for Tennessee or who was in on more?

More just based off what he has done his entire career, really has not been at Tennessee long enough to base anything off of. Not saying Graham wasn't the best though, just think you could make an argument for either.

Don't know what happened so I'm not going to disrespect any of the parties.....we don't know what happened. What I do know is that I am very sad to lose a coach and former Vol player! Jay Graham has always been a favorite of mine. I'm just at a lose!

Loss, you at a loss, and I feel the same.

Either CBJ doesn't have the financial support of the AD to hire the recruiting staff he needs in this conference or he's a moron. Either way, not good. No silver lining on this one other than it did not happen before NSD.
