Office Space tops the list for me. When it was in theaters I remember seeing the previews and thinking how uninteresting it looked. About a year later I had a break between class and work so I came home and turned on the TV with the intent of killing a few minutes before running a quick errand. It had just started on HBO or Showtime. By the time it got to Peter's apartment and Lawrence came over I was hooked. I didn't run that errand and ended up talking about it at work all night (and quoting it to this day).

Chicago- Never thought I'd like a modern musical, but this one surprised me in a lot of ways.

Ha, considering it's considered the worst movie ever then it had nowhere to go but up, eh?

Its so bad its good. AYK, its supposed to be a hooror flick, but its a much better comedy. I have a copy of it and "treat" my wife to a viewing of it every year or so.

Army of Darkness.

Not a movie, but when I FIRST saw the previews for Game of Thrones on HBO I thought it looked like a terrible Uwe Boll directed dungeons and dragons style show. Glad I was wrong, waaaay wrong on that.

Boondocks Saints. Had no interest whatsoever. Saw bits and pieces and thought it was pretty lame. Sat down and watched and was stunned at how good it actually was.

It's not one of my "favorites" but I thought the previews for Life of Pi looked pretty meh. I watched the other night and it's fantastic.

Amélie is another. I wouldn't call it an all time favorite but its a really good film. I don't mind subtitled movies but previews for foreign films rarely paint a good picture of what it's about. A buddy who usually sticks to action movies pressed me to watch it and I must say it was really enjoyable.

In alot of ways, the Social Network. When I first heard a facebook movie was being created, I wasn't too sure about it. I finally got around to seeing and it ended up being one of my favorite movies of all time.

One of my all time favorites. Unbelievably acting and chemistry between Eisenburg, Garfield, and Timberlake.
