I'm guessing you didn't read my OP in the other thread. The first thing I said is this was an awful thing and I hoped it to be untrue even if it did help us. Then once it was confirmed to be true, you have to look at all your options as to what happened and how you move forward from it. Obviously Foster might move from AU to UA. Or maybe not. Carl might have seen it or not. You have to know if you saw a guy that could be a future teammate call a 17 year old recruit you know really well the n- word with both of you being black, it at least makes you upset. Whether he picks us because if that, or goes to AU, or was going to choose us anyway, I'm sure if Carl saw that it was disheartening.

If you don't believe that, then you must live in a monastery.
You guesse wrong and have missed the point the entire time while telling me about my need to listen.

What's your point then? I'm pretty sure I covered everything important.

If you think anyone is basking in glory over this you're absolutely wrong.

No one is excited? And you told me to pay attention? Ludicrous.
No one is excited a 17 year old black recruit got called the n-word from a 22 year old white football player. If you don't see that, then you're blind man.

I'm saying it could have positive repercussions for us. I've made it pretty damn clear that it was an awful thing, and I wish it didn't happen whether it helped us or not. But, the thing is it did happen. Everyone has to live with it, good or bad.

Here. Let's just say this:

We are glad that, if the Auburn C is racist, Foster and Lawson found out about it before committing.

Now we can say that VN is not celebrating racism AND that we are happy to be given a boost (if we did receive one) with Lawson.

Odd:

While that is likely true, it sounds a lot like it, and that is what BPV is probably protesting. It does not look good to see pages of celebration over something like this. Admittedly, there is something to be happy about from a Vols perspective, but it is good to be clear about what we are saying. :)

You spend any time around teams? The family thing is overblown media tripe. Teams scuffle constantly. Al Wilson was a legendary Vol because he was an enforcer. That wasn't about his family ties.

Ok that's bull. Al Wilson was legendary because of respect and play on field. He was all about team, which was his family!!! He was the enforcer, protector and leader of the family!!! Not sure what team you ever played for but team is family. The best UT teams we have had were close, some of the most talented were not as good because to many were in it just for themselves. CBJ builds his teams to be more like brothers, cause you don't mess with family!! Lawson wants to be part of a family. What they are giddy about is this has happened and it may help with Lawson. They are not saying they are glad the N word was said, or there was a fight, but because it did ok that may play in our favor so good. I would be upset if they ask for it to happen but no one did. But dang it happened so we'll take it!!! You have always been on top of that mountain looking down on everyone since I've been on this board. Get over yourself!!!

To be real, probably half of Bama people use the N word. Alot of racist in that state. Dang, I don't even think I know how to spell racist right.

No one is directly celebrating that, I promise. It happened, and we were considering the positive repercussions (which was specifically it helping us with Carl Lawson). No one came in here and said, yes a 17 year old got called the n-word, wooooohoooo!!! Everyone was thinking, wow Carl Lawson in Orange!!! Yes!!!! Now I agree, it is almost like indirectly celebrating the situation with Reuben and Reese, I have more faith in our fanbase to not do that.

It's a misunderstanding IMO, but I guarantee you BPV did not read my first posts on the subject. All of them were more concerned with Reuben and what happened than what could possibly help us with Carl.

How I feel in general. It's a crappy situation. It sucks badly. Did it happen? Yes. Could it help us? Maybe. Lets discuss the good that could happen. Carl might possibly be turned off by AU now? Yes. Is that good for us? Yes.

Is that our fanbase saying we enjoyed the racism? No.

Guys, let's keep the discussion on Lawson. Enough with the insults and off topic nonsense.

No one is rejoicing at this kid getting called bad names, but rather enjoying a little schadenfreude at Auburn's expense.

thats where im at. the kid is an idiot and deserves the s*** storm thats about to come down on him, but Auburn having trouble doesnt hurt my feelings any.

BPV:

I sympathize with your worry here, but if you want to be on a moral high horse, it might be better to try to be more polite. Calling people stupid in every post isn't a productive way to settle things.

By the way...several pages of *****ing is probably enough. We have enough common interests in here to keep the bickering to a minimum.
Brilliant. Moralize then tell me I can't respond.
