**Mods, please move this if I posted in wrong forum.

My middle son turns 16 on September 12. The Oregon game falls on the weekend of his birthday and I am starting to plan our trip now. When my oldest son turned 16 I took him to the Rose Bowl to watch the TN vs. UCLA game and thought it would be a good tradition to take each of my 3 sons on a father son road trip and watch a visiting out of conference TN game when they turn 16 ( in 2016 my youngest will be 16, looks like he may get the short end of the stick with Nebraska being our marquee out of conference away game. Good tradition, not so much on the surrounding sights.)

Here are a few questions I have for any of you who have already planed or are familiar with the surroundings near Eugene, OR.

• What section of the stadium is the visitors seating?
• What hotel will the team or majority of fans be staying at?
• Any “must see” attractions I should be certain not to miss while I’m there?

Any other info would be helpful, thanks again and Go Vols!

i believe it's around section 39/40.

i stayed at the hilton. it's not a big city so i would imagine fans will be scattered across all the hotels.

left coast, campus/track, mountains to the east.

Most probably going as well, the wife is a massive Ducks fan, same with my brother in-law. He has season tickets so i will be the lone Vol in a sea of green and yellow.

Was wanting to get my dad a tick for his 50th bday. How much do you think two tickets for that game will run?

Portland is 1.5 hours north and is the jewel of Oregon. I would recommend budgeting at least one day up there to round out the trip. Mt hood and st. Helens are amazing

Oregon tailgating has been featured on "Art Mann Presents". BTW, all that rain in the northwest populates the forests with an abundance of psilocybin mushrooms, better known as "Magic".

All of section 39 and the upper part of 38 will be visitors. Some Duck fans told me to set up on the higher rows for the best views. Here are a few highlights from Ducks fans. Do the Florence to Newport drive. Heceta Light House Park. Beachcomber restaurant in Florence for the chowder. Crater Lake, but it's a pretty good drive from Eugene. Sea Lion Cave is amazing but not for the claustrophobic. In Newport visit Oregon Coast Aq and Rogue Ale Breweries. If you're in to micro-brews then Pigs Snout in Toledo, 7 miles from Newport. Driving the Columbia Gorge scenic corridor. I'll post some more info as I get it.

I was in Eugene about 15 yrs ago, on campus, hunting the stadium....I couldn't find it. Stopped & asked someone ...got confusing directions... Still couldn't find it...asked someone else & STILL couldn't find it. Both of them said "it's HUGE..you can't miss it." It seated around 45-50,000 at the time. I wanted to say "you're talking to a Tennessee fan...it's not huge!!!" But I refrained....anyway, It got dark & I never did find that little place...I'm not exactly Magellan, so it was probably my fault I never found it, but I've always thought it was funny that they thought it was huge! :)

If you're in to this kind of stuff, Oregon has some beautiful landscapes and scenery. May be a nice trip to go see the Redwoods and Sequoias. If that doesn't sound appealing, I wasn't excited about it either when I was on the West coast a couple years ago, but going to the Redwood forest ended up being the highlight of the trip!

Dont know about that partner, Portland is awesome, but Bend is definately considered by most to be the jewel of Oregon.

I always travel with the alumni through "All Seasons Travel" a lot of times we stay at the team hotel. The travel company puts together a package of hotel and bus to and from the game. For this game they will have flights in the package. They will have info on there website usually in March or early April.
