'13 GA DE Carl Lawson (Auburn commit)

What do you mean?

The barn allows players to scrub classes after the drop period, to keep them eligible for play. After 3 years of swapping classes, the players still need 2 more years of class time to graduate. It is not new. They have always done it. They started offering free tuition for players that want to come back and finish their deg. It is much like the VFL program, but theirs is shaady, and is a legitimate illegal process.
They can bee in a class for half a semester, and still drop ... and get the class switched to an ellective. They can do that 2 times a year .. that's 6 courses and very many hours.
While it is great for the player while there .. they almost never come back to finish.
See scam newton... plus they get an NFLer enroled while kids making these decisions.
It should be illegal, it is suposed to be. But somehow they can do it.

I don't mind Lawson going to Auburn if that's where his heart is.

But I in no way understand why that family would even give Garner a second chance to recruit him. The guy didn't want him enough at UGA to make a case to Grantham. Same goes for Bellamy. Why didn't Grantham pull the strings and say "I want Bellamy."

It's total BS.

He's not going to go to Auburn because of Garner...It's because he likes the school, program etc

I'm fine with that. But I want him to say he loves the school when he commits. Not something like "Coach Garner and I have a good relationship. He wants to use me this and that way..."

so..

40/60 carl lawson to auburn
60/40 von bell to UT
50/50 marquez north

I think Von Bell is more like 90 percent Vol. He is instate. He has been a Vol fan his whole life and he had a great visit that he gushed about. Plus, Skeeter says his father called and said Vol. Von Bell is a Vol.....100 percent now just since a couple of sentences ago.

True i feel the same way, Didn't Lawson say that hes announcing before NSD?

I think the thing that's most annoying is that auburn had a more pitiful season than we did, had a coaching change like we did, and yet they sit comfortably in the top 12-15 while we're scraping along in the 30's. The thing that we all hate to admit on here too is that if you hear a guy we're after is considering or visiting auburn, it's actually logical to fear he would go there instead. It's all part of being in the valley for as long as we have been I guess. I am damn confident though in this staff and their ability to close with a solid class, steal an unexpected win or two this fall and then KILL IT with our 2014 class!

Uzzi

I think this will come down to the end, it's a short trip so taking the fam is not that big of a deal. It's down to UT and AU..neither choice would surprise me.

UT is seing Carl and Fam tomorrow.

I don't understand him staying committed . I thought Lawson wanted a supporting staff? We will end up with bell , levenberry, miller , and maybe just maybe trey Johnson . To top that Carr is committed with JRM already on campus . To me that's a supporting class .

It definitely injects new life into the defense. Lawson would just make it a monster haul.

What do you mean?

Their academics office is not well respected in the industry & while there are couple really nice people there, the majority of them are not stand-up in nature. Their football academic staff, in particular, aren't the most pleasant individuals.

I'm not saying that UT's football academic advisors or staff is any better or worse either, as everyone I know up there has mostly left. I will say that UT has a MUCH nicer academic facility than Auburn though since Auburn's is just thrown into their main athletics building.

Vereen is pretty good as well. As it Sutton. They're not game changers, at least not right away, but they're solid for sure

If Lawson jumps on board , Bellamy does. Just adds to the haul. I think and this is a stretch , that trey Johnson has UT as the dark horse

I could not agree more actually. I think minus Johnson that is who signs plus north and some guys maybe not on the radar ala kennith Bynum last year. But those core guys you mentioned above will be what helps this d fill in the large wholes in the starting line up and depth in key areas. I think the d will be the biggest suprise of next year. Just to big of a chip on those young men's shoulders.

Who compliments him in AU class ?

They have a shot at Foster and still have Bower as a soft commit, but other than that nothing impressive. Lawson could come here and be part of something special. CBJ and crew have something good brewing and they just need the ingredients to get the ball rolling.

Luginbill said M Adams is visiting auburn this weekend. Not sure if that's correct though
