Seattle wouldn't shock me if the price just comes way down. But their lineup is already pretty crowded and weird.

Nationals signing Lohse and moving Detwiler to the pen as a lefty would be kinda insane right

andy
heyward
upton
mccann
bj
freeman
uggla
juan

alternates r/l the entire lineup. little bit awesome.
or even uggla leading off.

Hope so. Maybe this will be his Swan Song. Catching is such a tough position to have long periods of sustained success. Especially in the NL.

wRC+ since 2009 went 119, 123, 121, then 86 last year. If he was really just hurt, that has to trend back toward the others. And as a catcher that is raking.

Freeman potential progression and other strides in the offense might make it not even matter.

The overlooked piece. I love his game. He has potential to carry the team. I've been ridiculed for saying he could have better offensive numbers than Heyward at career's end. He has to work on cutting down on K's and plate discipline. That said, if I were to bet I'd bet on Heyward having the better numbers. The potential is there though.

His BB% and K% are trending in the right direction, even though 2011 was a bit better than 2012. I have always been in the "I dunno if he'll ever be an elite level player" camp but he is still so young.

Great idea.

Have a national holiday, Jackie Robinson Day. April 15th. First day of baseball.

Boom.

Yep. Hard to say.

On a side note, how awesome would it be to be Vonn Bell right now? Jacques Smith is throwing a party solely in his honor. The only visitor in town this weekend, complete royality treatment. The entire campus is having "Vonn Bell Day"... All at what 17 years old?

too late for beisbol

If we are going to do my hypothetical holiday, I'd cut the season down from 162 games to 150, but that's just me. It'll never happen though.

But seriously, I think the guy who started the Civil Rights Movement deserves his own national holiday.

And people wonder why college athletes are selfish and do punk moves all the time.

Doesn't surprise me if Freeman does end up having better numbers. He can just spray the field with power. A future Batting title perhaps in the future.

Definitely some truth to your statement. Different kids react different to it too. Some go the Da'ricky route and I can see how they would too. 5* kids get treated like rock stars. That can be tough to adjust to when you havent mentally matured ie still a kid. I can see where entitlement can brew from within when grown men across your home state would give a body part to see you play for their team.

Recruiting truly is a meat market.
